How do I fix this -- when I try to bookmark something, only a few of my folders show to choose from?

Firefox updated and now my bookmarks are wonky. I can't edit existing ones and when I create a new one and hit "choose" to select a folder to put it in, only a half dozen of my folders show up. I have something like thirty folders! Where are they? And how do I get them to show up again?

There used to be an option when bookmarking a page called "Bookmark Bar". This was in addition to the current "Bookmark Toolbar" option. I now don't have that option, however I still see my old "Bookmark Bar" items. Is this option gone with the latest update. If so, how can I easily move all of my bookmarks from the old "bookmark bar" list to the new current option.

I SO MUCH preferred the old way of bookmarking a web page!!! This new bookmarking tool brings up a HUGE popup,TWICE THE SIZE OF THE OLD ONE !!! -- and the new one actually covers up some of the information I want to type into the book mark name.
Further - and SO UNNECESSARY -- inside the bookmark creating pop-up there is a THUMBNAIL of the actual page I am looking at!!! This is ridiculous. If it was not there, I could see what I need/want on the page underneath.
Is there some way to go back to the OLD procedure that had just a couple of lines in a small pop-up? I am sure I am not the only one who would like to do this. Thank you for any assistance !!!

WHY, when bookmarking a page, can't we have an option to Show/ Not show the thumbnail of the SAME PAGE we are looking at ??? A repeat of the exact same page is a huge annoyance for me. I sure wish I could go back to the previous format, that appears when I click the star to bookmark a page.
I do a short edit to the title of most bookmarks I create. I arrange almost all of my dozens of bookmarks bookmarks by date/time. NOW, the new format HUGE BOX covers up information I need on the underlying page to edit the bookmark name !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which means I have to remember date/time information , add it to the bookmark, click out of the bookmark to make sure I haven't made an error and then check the bookmark again to make sure what I added is correct. A HUGE time waster!!
PLEASE, PLEASE include an option to SHOW / NOT SHOW the thumbnail !!!!

I have found the bookmark feature much different when I went to Firefox 62.0. Maybe it happen earlier, but that is when I noticed. The old method was much more intuitive. I have figured out the new method by clicking on choose which then opened up my folders , but why change something that has been in place for decades? People are use to seeing their folders without clicking on choose. Now I will get a half dozen others asking me about bookmarks. I would at least thought somewhere there was a fact sheet with warning of basic operational changes without a whole lot of detail technical jargon that most users wouldn't understand or care about. Then what purpose did that change make to the overall functionally? If none, it shouldn't have been made.

I migrated my bookmarks over from one Firefox browser to a new machine. I have all the bookmarks saved in a Bookmarks toolbar folder and they are all there but I cannot figure out how to get them all out of the toolbar folder and on the bar individually?
At present they are in the folder on the toolbar space of the main browser. Previously I had a number of bookmarks showing across the browser and then the rest were listed below on the far right when you hover over it.
I would like to have it in that format again but cannot see how to do it! When I right click I get these options:
Open all in tabs New Bookmark New folder New separator Cut Copy Delete Sort by name Properties
I cannot see which would drag them all out nor can I use left click (showing them all) then right to drag them all out!
Hopefully someone can help sort this thanks.

Do I have to change a setting some where to regain the previously operable method? Right click- bookmark- specify folder/file, ok.

Firefox Quantum 62 (64 bit). The library was showing Bookmarks normally, when the cursor must have caught something as it moved across the screen. Now a large 'edit' pane appears in the bottom half of the screen (see image) and I cannot find any button or menu item to remove it. It is also there on the History and Download pages. How do I send it away, and what would have made it appear?

In one of the recent Firefox updates, the "New Bookmark" panel that appears when you click the star on the location bar seems to have got a new "preview" feature that shows a snippet of the website. Fancy, but it takes valuable screen space. Especially after expanding the folder menu; then the whole bottom part with the "done" button goes invisible if you have a smallish screen.
Is there a way to turn off the preview feature (through about:config perhaps)?
Since the last big upgrade (62?) I can't organize my bookmarks. Is there anything I can do about this?

I was previously on v. 57 I think. I upgraded to v. 62 and now the bookmarks don't work properly. If I try to rearrange them, they won't always move where I want them to. For instance, I have a folder and I want to move it two folder lower. I'll try to move it, and it'll stay right there. If I move the folder 8 spaces lower, then it'll move down one or two spaces. The same thing happens when I make separators, everything. Sometimes if I'm moving something from a lower position to a higher one it'll work correctly, sometimes. Moving from a higher position to lower seems to not work almost all of the time.
Okay, I just tried it again and it seems to be working for now. For the past two to three days it hasn't so I'll still post this to see if anyone has any help for if it starts up again.

After the last FireFox update, the additional folders that I have set up in the Bookmark drop box are all disabled and greyed out. You can access the website links that are already in the various folders, but you can not add any website links to them because they are no longer listed.
How can I enable these various folders again?

Was this intentional? I find it an annoyance because I now have to scroll down more to see lists that easily fit on the screen vertically before. And the change adds nothing to readability.
