So, whenever I use an extension such as Google Translator for Firefox or ImTranslator and try to translate from English to Portuguese the following webpage: https://schuessler-cell-salts.com/facial-diagnosis/index.htm Firefox starts to become extremely sluggish and if I select any text on the translated webpage, my whole system freezes and the only way to get back is to unplug my computer from power source and restart the system! I made a fresh install of Firefox 68.0.2 on my ASUS K55VD Notebook, but it crashes without error messages even in safe mode from the first run. I have an identical machine with identical version of Win 10 in which the same version of Firefox runs perfectly. I cannot figure what is the difference between the two notebooks. Graphic cards and driver versions are also the same, as far as I can check. Here follows content of the "report.wer" file I found in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_firefox.exe_bb3e6960f0b5268223c1435cf363fbc6e3728b_f5caf6bd_7b14895d-b5c5-4b7b-b130-2893955908a4", which is the only readable crash report I could find in my hard drive containing the string "firefox".
Hope someone can help me...

How do I stop Firefox from displaying the name of a graphic I hover over? If this is on the screen when I follow a link, sometimes it persists even when I close the whole browser! The only way to get rid of it in those cases is to log off and back on or it'll sit on the desktop and overlay anything that is displayed.
The graphic attached shows the popup that I'd like to inhibit.

1. Fresh FF install on freshly installed Xubuntu 19.04 in Vbox. 2. FF started ok. Open different tabs, certain sites at different stages crashes with 'Gah. Your tab just crashed' message: (just a few examples of sites below)
2b. http://www.ctrip.com/ - Started to load, but when it is almost fully completed, it crashed.
2c. mail.yahoo.com - After keying in user name, the next page for password crashes.
3. Steps tried: Had googled left right center but nothing of help. Some articles that seem close, tried but failed: 3a. disable multi-process tabs doesn't help :
browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false (can't find this part though, only the above line)
3b. Disable hardware acceleration - doesn't help.
3c. There is no extension nor theme added, it's a newly installed FF and OS.
4. What works: safe mode. All the sites listed above are able to load in safe mode.
5. There is no crash report? Is it because it is a tab crash rather than a full crash?

Since a Firefox update a week or so ago, both my Window 10 laptop and window 7 desktop, who have synch'd bookmarks, show a multiplicity of repetitive entries that I did not bookmark, some are only websites that I visited but did not bookmark, others are sites that I bookmarked once, but are now repeated many times in the toolbar. How do I clear this and avoid the problem? Is it a setting issue? I made a printscreen, but cannot upload it as an image. Please send me an answer at firstname.lastname@example.org

Every couple of years I get sick of Google Chrome and try to go to Firefox. Things mostly work, but sometimes they don't. The things that don't work seem to be buttons and menus. I run Firefox on Linux; today I'm on Fedora 28 with Firefox 66.0.4, but my issues seem to transcend time- probably 8 years or more. But Chrome scares me, so maybe we can address this and get it figured out.
I'll include some specifics to get down to the details of why Firefox fails. Here's a website that I just went to: https://lcsc.com/ . After you get there, a New Coupon windows pops up. Apparently "Coupon in Your Pocket" is a button, but nothing happens when I click on it.
I've been having problems at Aliexpress, too, where it asks me to login but I can't because the login button is unresponsive. But let's not try to fix Aliexpress, perhaps it would be better to focus on the one website so we don't get distracted. And it's easy- just go to it and the coupon will pop up.
I've had problems on other websites that I can't recall right now. But this lcsc.com problem seems to be pretty straightforward, so I decided to report it in the hopes that I can get Firefox to work once and for all. I don't want to have to keep going to Chrome.
See the attached screenshot.

ubuntu 16.04, firefox 68.0.1. New instance started after "updated in background" restart just sits there. Add-ons are not started, tabs are not restored as promised. Typing in URL bar and hitting enter does nothing. No response to attempt to open a bookmark. Typing "about:support", no response. I tried removing and re-installing firefox with "sudo apt", no help. Starting firefox without addons, no help. The "about:firefox" display shows no change in version number. A reboot is the only thing that cures this. It has now happened 8 times (8/2, 8/5, 8/9. 8/16 and 4 times earlier). I have about-buildconfig, about-firefox and about-support from 8/2 and 8/5 if they would be helpful.

I have gigabit internet. I routinely get speeds 4-8x slower when uploading through firefox than through chrome or ms edge. A 710MB test file will take 21 sec to upload on Chrome, and 21 sec to upload on MS Edge, but 1:34 sec on firefox to google drive.
I have done similar tests uploading the same file to youtube, vimeo and running the backblaze bandwidth test, as well as speedof.me. They all show firefox trailing behind by the same margins.
Where I seem to see no difference however, is the Ookla speed test as in that case firefox tests about as high as chrome.
I've tried reinstalling, safe mode and refresh. No extensions are on and I only run windows defender on Windows 10 (up to date updates).
I spent the end of the afternoon calling my ISP thinking they were throttling traffic only to realize it's only firefox. Attaching a screen shot of Backblaze Bandwidth test and speedof.me that I happen to test in two different browsers when I first noticed the discrepancy. I seem to be pegged to the 65Megabit limit in my practical upload tests to youtube, google drive, and vimeo.
In troubleshooting process I had also tried reinstalling network card drivers and disabling IPv4 and 6 offloading tasks - this made no difference.
I really want to keep using FF, but don't want to have to switch to a diff browser just to upload files.
Thanks for the help!

First, I lost all my current bookmarks, including bookmarks toolbar. Attempting to restore or import bookmarks results in "Firefox not responding" and/or warning message "Script running - continue/end script", either of which results in "Firefox not responding" and Firefox hangs up. I have tried every suggestion under Firefox Help, including: startup with add-ons disabled and removed, Profile fixes, uninstall/reinstall Firefox, Refresh Firefox, and lots more. Security scans show no viruses or malware. Any ideas as to what I do next. Thanks.

Firefox would not open. Error message started with XML Parsing Error: unclosed token. after reinstall, I don't see my profile information. I found this page: "https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_2-clear-your-cookies-and-cache" which suggested I try IN ORDER various means to fix my problem. None of these worked so the next in order was to reinstall Firefox. I did reinstall Firefox. Now, I cannot find my personal information such as passwords, bookmarks etc. I have searched for directions to access my profile but have not been successful. How do I access and use my old profile information after reinstalling Firefox? (REFRESH was offered AFTER re-installation in the order of suggestions to try to fix my problem. I see now it saves the old profile. However, reinstallation was the next suggestion which I tried IN SEQUENTIAL ORDER as suggested by the directions. How do I access and use my old profile???
File upload causes Firefox to be unresponsive and must close browser to continue. Tried all the fixes. Other browsers fine. Several computers.
Please if you have any suggestions, I'll try them. I thought a new clean computer might solve the problem, but no luck there either.
