Recently Firefox has become very slow to load pages. It starts up OK but is very slow to open the first page on a website, often over a minute. Once the first page opens however it will open links perfectly OK. It doesn't matter whether it's a bookmark I visit often or the first time I visit s website it's still very slow to open the first page.
I've tried everything I know (several times); I've uninstalled & re-installed Firefox, created a new profile, loaded in Safe Mode, removed all add-ons and re-installed them one by one and refreshed Firefox. Each method corrects it initially so I leave it a while then re-install each add-on in turn. I let it run for a day or so with each add-on and each time it runs fine. Until I get all add-ons re-installed! It always runs OK for a day or two (or sometimes longer) then it suddenly slows down again and will remain slow until I do one of the above again.
I'm running the latest version of Windows 10 and Firefox Quantum and I've also disabled the antimalware in Windows Defender but that's made no difference. By comparison I don't have any problems with either Chrome or Edge?
Any suggestions please?

whats happening is that Firefox will not allow editing bookmarks either add or delete also no history saved !!! and if you close it you have to do it from the Task manager in order to start it again!!!!

Been having issues w/Sync for several months. I get "Sync Failed" errors constantly regardless of it's an automatic or manual sync. This is happening on three Windows machines: a tower I built, a laptop, and a Windows tablet. I've even deleted my account, waited overnight, and created a new account, with a different user name/email, and when FF tries to sync, I still get errors. Sometimes the error logs say something about "size" but usually they are too cryptic for me to decode. I'm using a half dozen addons: noscript, ad block, smartup gestures, and a video downloader; additionally, I've probably got less then 100 bookmarks, so not sure what the size problem might be. Thoughts?

When I tried to manually delete lot of entries (>2000) from browsing history (sidebar->search->select all->R.click->delete) Firefox used all of my memory and CPU for more than 10 minutes. As a result there where lot of writings to swap file and my PC was freeze until I was able to terminate Firefox.
I tried to reproduce the behavior with smaller set and the same happen on all tries. As an example I selected ~300 pages in history sidebar and delete them. The memory usage (for the process that used the most) went from 250MB to 800MB and CPU usage to 100% for ~2.5 minutes. During this time Firefox was almost unusable and the PC very slow.
All tests, including the initial problem, performed as first task after Firefox complete its load and without any network/web traffic by me.
I don't have the fastest PC or lot of GB of memory, but what I have should be far from enough in order to delete some entries with any additional "re-configuration" on the back, without "melt" it. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz MEM: 4GB OS: Windows 7 (64 bit) Firefox: 69.0.3 (64-bit)
Do you think I have to report it a a bug?

When I edit a document in Google Docs after entering some characters the tab crashes. If I stay on the same tab it stops to respond and after a few seconds it works again and all the characters I have entered appear. if i change to another tab and then back to the Google Docs tab then some round "reload" icon is shown, tab reloads and all is back to normal. When I change to about:performance when the Google Doc tab is hanging then it does not show up there anymore. After it is reloaded like 10 seconds later it appears again in about:performance.
When I start Firefox in Safe Mode then everything works fine and I cannot reproduce the issue. I then tried to narrow down the issue by disabling Hardware Acceleration, disabling all the extensions, plugins and making sure default theme is being used. But the issue was still there when I did not use Safe Mode.
I then created a new profile and after that did not help, I uninstalled Firefox, deleted the program files folder manually, reinstalled but the issue is still there. I also deleted all the Firefox System Add-Ons but still no success.
The issue happens with my normal Firefox in Private Mode, too.
How can I troubleshoot this further? What does Safe Mode do in addition to the things I have mentioned above?

Firefox is constantly logging me out of webpages even while I am on the page. For example, if I'm in gmail I will login and 2 minutes later it will log me out, even if I'm on the same page. The same happens with many other websites. I've been watching a YouTube video and been logged out halfway through the video too. For Salesforce I have to receive confirmation emails to confirm that I am the right person logging into the account. I've tried other solutions on these forums but nothing seems to work. I have my cookies to save and use custom settings for my history. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

When trying to clear my Cached Web Content in Options/Privacy and Security it will not clear to 0 but remains at 9.8 MB every time. i.e."Your stored cookies, site data, and cache are currently using 9.8 MB of disc space." I fill in all kinds of forms, with variations of my name, address, etc., and with other people's info. Firefox saves those variations and autofill becomes effectively unreliable, filled with dozens of erroneous entries, until I manually delete all but the three I want to keep.
It seems silly that there is one checkbox to control both the saving and the filling. Can we get a sub-setting where I can uncheck “save new addresses that I enter”? Or is there an about:config option for it?

After deleting history for the past 4 hours (Everything checked) and closing that tab, I was back at the previous tab and I noticed right away that the back and forward buttons were grayed out, that was the case for all tabs of all windows. First thing I did was make a backup of the Mozilla folder (parent.lock couldn't be copied as it was in use), but renaming the recovery file (recovery.baklz4 and recovery.jsonlz4 were the only files) to sessionstore.jsonlz4 and putting it in the right folder didn't help. I also had a look at several files to see if there were previous versions available... unfortunately. Is there any hope?
I must mention that I'm currently on 70.0 (When I checked the version it started downloading and installing), and I had to restart FF before all this happened, so I may have been on a different version than 69.0.3.

I downloaded Firefox today. I received 3 messages that javascript is disabled. The first one was from Facebook (see screenshot). The second one was from Javascript when I was trying to figure out how to enable javascript (see screenshot). Yet when I checked about:config, javascript.enabled's value is "true" (see screenshot). The third one was from Firefox when I did a survey on why I decided to use Firefox (no screenshot). What am I doing wrong?

Even when I search in Preferences --> Search --> Find more search engines, Google does not even appear in the results. When I visit Google.com, the green plus sign does not appear on the magnifying glass in the search toolbar, but it shows up on almost every other site. Even on this Mozilla Support site, the green plus sign appears and I can add this to my search toolbar, but I can't add Google.
This all started when I updated my Mac to Catalina, but I don't see why that would affect my ability to simply add Google to my search toolbar. Someone please help, this is driving me insane.

Hi there,
Every so often while working on the computer, I will daydream for a few moments. With few exceptions, when I wake up from my slumber, Firefox is loading many duplicates of the same page. Sometimes it's just a new tab, but most of the time it's some page from the Firefox Website.
The last time this happened, a few days ago, it loaded 168 copies of some Firefox page. Mind you, this ONLY happens when I'm dozing, and I've never been able to duplicate it when awake.
It's almost as though the computer can sense my dozing, and takes the opportunity to go rogue. Spooky!
