It is quite a common event to send friends a lead into a web address for interesting articles or videos (Youtube urls). To do thjis means you do a copy and paste into the Email. When I was using Aol the address presented itself in bold type which allowed the recipient to just click on the address to be connected instead of doing a copy and paste into the address bar. Is there a way this can be done in Firefox?

The FireFox' disk cache foler is set to D:\Cache (I set it so from about:config).

I cleared the disk cache, watched a YouTube video (almost 2 minute long), then looked into D:\Cache. But the video I had watched was not there! (I found two .SWF files. But their sizes were smaller than 250K. And, stand-alone SWF players couldn't play them. Therefore, they can't be YouTube videos.)

So, where does Firefox cache videos?

How do I prompt Firefox to ask to save a password. Once I say "no" it never asks again (but now I would like it to remember the password for certain sites). I have also changed my password on some sites (while on another computer) and I cannot find out how to get Firefox to remember new passwords. I'm using Firefox 6.0.1 on a mac. I'm not using private browsing. I have 'remember passwords for sites' clicked and there are no exceptions. I've tried removing cookies, history, looking at page info.

Whenever I encounter a suspicious website (like a fake anti-virus site, porn redirect, etc), I will close Firefox 6 by using the Windows Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL then Applications/Close). I do this because suspicious websites often force you to click on something before you can close your browser [Example: Are you sure you want to navigate away from this website? Yes/No]. I do not want to click on anything that may install malware. After this forced termination when I re-open Firefox, it attempts to restore my last session automatically. This of course re-opens the same suspicious website and I have to close Firefox a second time with CTRL-ALT-DEL. After that second forced termination I get the "Well this is embarrassing" page and I can choose to start a new session. My question: Is there any way to stop Firefox from trying to automatically restore an old session when it is forcibly closed or terminated? By the way...In Tools/Options/General/Startup, I am set to "show my home page" on startup.

Wow! I never saw the whole notice.

This started happening right after Firefox automatically updated itself to 6.0.1.

I depend on Paypal to run my business. not being able to access the site is a huge problem.

Using Firefox for months with full page screen on my laptop when suddenly it changed to a split screen while I was on an AARP game site and it stays that way now - making it useless by cutting off pertinent info when I search for other sites. The left side stays on ther AARP site but the right moves to a new site as I browse.

Arabic text characters are all connected one to another in a word, but FireFox displays the letters right, except they are disconnected and each letter is on its own, making it very difficult if not impossible to read.

What I used to do in the past is, pages that contain Arabic Text for me such as Facebook, I used to install IETAB2 and set facebook to always open with IETAB and then the text would display correctly.

The strange thing is, if you use IE, it would display the same garbage isolated Arabic letters, but the IETAB with IE7 emulation works like a charm.

With that said, recently, FF stopped displaying arabic text correctly even with IETAB2

But Google Chrome always works like a charm without the need for anything.

I have tried changing the encoding on the site but that doesn't help

Can anyone suggest anything please?

Anything other than UTF-8 will just display as jibberish.

But the problem with UTF-8 is that the Arabic letters are not linked one to the other, each one is seperated, makeing it very difficult to read.

What's even weirder is, I checked with Chrome, which displays Arabic Text just fine, and it is also using the UTF-8 encoding but it works!? Please help as I don't want to use Chrome :(

I now have really annoying green underlined text with pop ups all over the place, did you guys put this into the browser? i didn't want such a stupid annoying thing. how is this supposed to enhance firefox?

Sinc ea few days ago I can no longer open links in a new tab with my middle mouse button. All the other features in firefox that use it remain the same. (ie. middle click tab to close, tab bar to reopen last tab,scrolling.) I have changed no settings and have gone over them multiple times, but to na avail. Is it Firefox 6.0.1? Please help I like opening tabs without having to use a right click function.

When I try to print a web page ie an article from the NY Times or other newspaper, the first page prints properly with correct scale then the 2nd page is either blank or comes out in double or triple scale so that much of the page is missing. I have tried with both "Ignore Scaling" checked and unchecked. As an end-run, I chose a very small font and when the entire article is printed on one page, it comes out correctly. Just the 2nd and 3rd pages are affected. I have already downloaded another copy of Firefox 6.0.1 and have replaced printer drivers. I am using Mac OS 10.6.8 on a MacBook Pro.

When I load Firefox, the default search engine goes to AVG Search. I'd like to change it so that the default search engine on the search bar is Google. In addition, when I one a new page, the new page home page defaults to AVG Search. I'd like opening a new page to default to Google. My initial home page goes to the Wall Street Journal, which I want to keep, but want to change for the search bar and when a new page is opened to Google.

How do I disable the plugin check at Firefox start up? All of my plugins are up to date and I do not have Java installed on my system (thus, do not have the Java plugin).

I'm running FF 12 and have already set plugins.update.notifyUser to False.

As I opened my drop down to go to regular site I discovered a porn site. I went to my 'history' and found more, which I suspect was due to allowing a neighbor to use my pc. I need to permanently remove all of them, please.
