Sometimes all add-ons / extensions break randomly and are disabled (the icon of the extensions is also broken under "Manage Your Extensions").

The extensions are visible under "about:addons", but the slider is turned off and the icon in front of each extension is broken / empty.

It seems that deleting these 2 files- compatibility.ini and extensions.json inside the firefox profile folder, usually fixes the issue. Only these 2 files though, don't delete anything else.

No need to mess around with the ff profiles or anything else, just deleting those 2 files and restarting the firefox usually fixes the issue with the "unregistered" addons.

This thread is for the search function, as I found some VERY old and outdated suggestions for the aforementioned issue using the search function.

I wonder what causes the extensions to "unregister" randomly.

How do I perform very basic editor functions like add/remove/move a page in the new Firefox PDF document editor? I am in the Mainstream Firefox 124.0.1 64-bit. Thank You, David

Every time FF does an update it deletes my saved sites on the FF home page. When I try and put them back in the blank spaces it will not let me. I have tried reinstalling FF and it does not help at all. I try in safe mode and it does not work either.

I'm using the current version of Firefox 124.0.1 (64-bit). I recently noticed that when I print -- there's no webpage title or URL address with date on the bottom even when I have checked and selected print headers/footers before printing. Is this a bug? Can you please help me? Thank you.

When I scroll text for some reason, Firefox stopping scrolling very slow. It's almost take up to 2 seconds. Very annoying smoothest. I have stopped scrolling already but Firefox still scrolling and finally very slow stop it. I can't focus on the text because it's still slows down the scrolling.

How to fix that!?

Safari has no problem with https://meijer.com, but Firefox flags it as untrustworthy and won't let me connect. I am using Avast! antivirus. Brave browser also works. I am using 124.0.1. I see there is a 124.0.2. I'll try that next.

I've installed firefox and weirdly when I use youtube or just browsing the CPU is 250 and it's draining my new mac really quickly. This did not happen before on my previous mac. Seeking some help and answers, went to Apple genius bar and they've stated is the firefox application that is causing the fast drain of power.

I suddenly started a thick outline shadow around dialogue boxes such as the Google search bar. I thought it was them but it is on all websites and only on Firefox. I did not change anything. I did restart my pc yesterday but it just started this morning when I opened Firefox. Firefox 124, Windows 10 I don't like it and want to get rid of it but I don't know how.

Could you kindly advise? WashingtonPost.com does NOT ask to accept cookies even after I deleted all cookies, website data and cache (but in Opera it does ask for cookies), after Firefox automatically deleting cookies and website data after closing Firefox, and after cleaning cookies, website data and cache with Ccleaner — WHY? Which mechanism of Firefox is exploited by WashingtonPost.com? And what should I do? Thank you!

This is the procedure I followed:

Close firefox

Copy previous.jsonlz4 file to the main level in the profile

It has all the tabs i used to have in it because I made a backup a few days ago

Rename the file to sessionstore.jsonlz4

restart firefox

I get the same single tab I had before i did this

when i go to history tabs, all that is there is the single tab i currently have

I have been using Windows 10 with Firefox browser and Google/Gmail for many months. I also have been using Norton 360 and other Norton programs for many years. A few days ago, I updated Norton Utilities Ultimate and after update ran it for standard options. Before that update, I could start Google and still be signed in and start Gmail and still be signed in. Now, whenever I close Gmail or Google, I have to sign in whenever I start Google/Gmail. I tried to get help from Norton (see attached chat printout), but they said it was not a Norton problem and to contact Google. When I researched the problem with Google, it indicated that the problem was related to cookies but did not help correct it. I tried Firefox Help and could not find any useful information. I then changed to Google Chrome browser; that works and I can start and stop Google and Gmail and remain signed in. If I go back to Firefox, I still have to sign in every time I start Google. Hi, I seem to be increasingly having problems logging into some sites. Mostly it seems to be football sites - https://supercoach.heraldsun.com.au/afl?destination=%2Fafl%2Fclassic&apiIdentifier=afl_classic and https://www.fanfooty.com.au/. Both are working fine in Chrome with the same username and password. Recently I couldn't log into my AGL electricity account, then suddenly, it came good on it's own. I have cleared the cookies but that didn't help. Cheers, Ian.

My Firefox browser did not update with daylight savings (this is my first time being in a country with daylight savings with this PC) and now all in-browser times are an hour behind, which is already really confusing for someone experiencing daylight savings for the first time. Now that I do not have a phone, this went from mildly annoying to really messing up my day-to-day life. As a result, I researched, found and followed this question-and-answer proposed solution to my issue but it didn't work. Now, I've been pushed a step backward because I have also lost the ability to view TV shows and movies on third party websites because the player will not load and a 'Website will not allow Firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it' notice will pop up (image for reference). This is super infuriating due to the fact that my PC is older and genuinely cannot run any kind of chromium browser and Firefox is the only way I can access said third party sites. It would be wonderful is anyone had a solution for both issues; thank you!

Is there a way to set the default view and sorting for file upload folder?

The default for me is, detailed view and sorted by date.

I wanted to change it to large icon and sort by name, so it's easier to upload images. but I have to change the setting for every individual folder, is there a way to just set it as default?

I am setting up a new mac computer (Mac book Air M3 with Sonoma 14.3). I have installed Video Download Helper. The icon appears in the Applications folder and the Dock, but not in the Firefox toolbar. How can I get the icon back? Many thanks.

the Icons code on github in this file are not correct rendered in Firefox. If I use these icons in my terminal they will get rendered in the terminal.

• use hardware acceleration available enable/disable makes no difference

I recently updated Firefox browser. Since doing so, I get a warning window that pops up after launching Firefox advising that VERIFICATION.EXE "contains a virus or malware."

I assume that verification.exe is associated with Firefox. What am I supposed to do in response to that message?
