It been now the second time that upon opening firefox, it doesn't open the previous session but a new one. It's the second time that I loose ALL my tabs. The "restore previous session" is greyed, I tried the about:sessionrestore but it doesn't give me the possibility to restore the previous session, and on my computer, the sessionstore backup just has the restoresession from today. Is there any way to avoid this?

Hello helpers! I have lost my bookmarks and several add-ons after latest install (77.0.1). I can't find old profiles to use and restoring to an older bookmarks backup doesn't work either; I get an error message "unable to process the backup file - but it does at least see the last relevant version from 10.6.2020.

To compound the problem, whist working my way through several solutions offered on these forums, I hit the Refresh Firefox button, which created an Old Firefox Data folder on my desktop - but seems to only contains the new stuff after today's upgrade) AND I also reset my Firefox password and got the message that Personal Data will be lost so that has added to the problem. Basically a massive mess!

Can I revert to the older Version of Firefox or using an old computer backup or is there another way to fix this?? It's nearly 3000 bookmarks going way back to 2014 - I'd be gutted to lose it all.

I'm using Firefox for Mac on several machines. Some of them run 78.4.1 esr and others are on the newest FF 82. Passwords and history are set to sync. I created a new login item in 78.4.1 esr however I don't see it in FF 82 which is reflected in the logins count: it's 92 in FF 78.4.1 esr while it's 91 in FF 82. FF 78 ESR doesn't use system proxy but its own. In the "Manage Devices" section it shows all my devices with every FF counterpart and the correct date and time last active.

I can no longer stream CBS All Access. They are saying that I have some kind of ad blocking problem in my software therefore they cannot play movies with their ads. Firefox recently did a download on Nov. 18. It was 78.5 Oesr. Could that be the problem? Does 78.5 Oesr have some kind of an ad blocker? If so, how can I uninstall it?

My MacBook Pro hard drive was fried. I have purchased a new laptop. Does Firefox have a backup for those files somewhere "out there" that I can access to download them into the new computer?

From a Mac user tired of constantly upgrading sys and apps and browser versions. Older versions like 40+ of Firefox had a THIRD OPTION re. updating the browser, which let you have peace of mind by not reminding you daily (or rather each time you opened the browser) that there was another "new" version. As an old user who has seen dozens of upgraded versions, and sometimes some unwanted change like this one (the missing third option in controls), I resisted upgrading for long, but recently had to give way. Surprised to get the only two options in the Prefs: either upgrade automatically, or get a reminder and upgrade or decline. This message of the same (or, monthly, another new) version keeps popping up soon after I open the browser, which may happen more times daily. Is it necessary, to be reminded each time? Distracting, and when you have other things in mind, disrupting and irritating. Well, I don't like upgrading for such losses of control, and would like to ask if there is a non hard way of blocking any messages to upgrade Firefox. Would be much obliged if it could be done. I sent messages to Firefox a few times, needless to say. Perhaps somebody versed overthere would have a solution. I would upgrade Firefox if I need or want, therefore I feel unwanted the update popping up message all the time. See picture. And thanks folks.

Is anyone else having trouble with eBay? Since about July, when I go to eBay on Firefox, it comes up with an HTML version of the site. I can load eBay on Safari but it is not as good. I don't want to download an install Google Chrome. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I noticed there is something in the Firefox browser now named Lockwise which allows anyone using my computer to see all my passwords. This seems to be a major problem when it is supposed to be concerned with security. If my laptop is stolen they will have access to all my passwords now???? This does not look like a security feature to me. How do I get rid of or disable this function?

Since the last update my default browser is Yahoo, and the list in Preferences contains only BrowserDefault and PlaySearchNow.

I am getting really skeptical about any new updates from you guys.

How do I get my list of browsers back, specfically Google?!

My google maps is unable to access my location even though I have allowed location access from Firefox preferences/settings. The blue target button (Current Location) on Google maps is greyed out, and when I hover over it it says that access is not allowed. Even though when I'm in google maps, the Address bar shows that my location access is allowed, as well as in the Firefox settings. I have refreshed the window multiple times, restarted Firefox, cleared all cookies, and restarted my computer. I've also toggled the enhanced tracking protection in the address bar to off, restarted the browser, still not working. Everything in the settings tells me that access is allowed, yet google maps still tells me that it is denied. Has anyone had this problem, or know of a workaround or how to fix this? Thanks! (Working on Firefox 75. with a MAC)

I got the pop-up about FF 78.0.1 so went to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/78.0.1/releasenotes/ and clicked on "Download Firefox" (https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/download/thanks/). The download dialogue (image attached) that appeared said that it wanted to download "Firefox 78.0.1esr.dmg". The "esr" in the filename surprised me, as I'm not on any ESR release train. Why is it named that and not "Firefox 78.0.1.dmg", similar to its predecessors?

For the last 3 days every time I try to access my email account, "xfinityconnect.email.comcast.net", a warning comes up saying Firefox won't let me connect. "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead". I have scanned my computer and removed any threats, viruses, malware etc. but the warning continues to block my mail program. Help!

Zoom help tells me I have to make sure the setting for the Zoom plug-in to always be on but I don't know how to do this, or even if I have a Zoom plug-in. Thanks for any help!

No issues in Safari 13.1 on High Sierra. The screenshot taken in Mavericks (FF 74.0.1) as Safari 9 doesn't load the site at all. Disabled all extensions, cleared cookies and cache - no dice.

Hi all Since I installed FF 70.0 there are no more titles in the title bar. I looked in the Preferences and found nothing. I am running OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks. TIA for your help. Nick

A widget (Ultimate Social Media Icons Plus) no longer displays on my website www.frankentrikes.com in Firefox 71.0 on Mac OS 10.9.5. It works on all other browsers+phones (incl Firefox).

I have already emptied the cache and done the myriad of other things Firefox recommended trying but it has changed nothing.

I noticed that my Facebook feed is also broken in Firefox, but they claim that it is a permanent break and that there is no fix (for firefox 70.0 and up).

I need this particular widget to work. I am running WordPress 4.9.13

After updating FF to v71 (Mac) my tabs are once again at the top of the window, instead of under the urlbar and bookmarks toolbar. Anyone have a new fix for this?

I don't see why Mozilla just can't let people put the tabs where they want and be done with it. Stuff like this used to be one of the great appeals and strengths of FF. It just feels like, which each new update, FF loses more and more of its soul.
