Firefox Update continues to NOT update with the simple "Restart to Update" after the download is done.

Hi there.

The original problem is described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1472503 ( Also the solution I found.)

Jaws and James seem to have left the building.

This problem first occurred with the update from V 135.0.1 to V 136.0 . Currently on V 136.0.4, and every update has exhibited the same behavior.

I have the same issue with two laptops, running Windows 10. Each has been through a few update cycles, and the "Restart to Update" always fails.

So, I close FF, watch for the Resource Monitor to quiet down, and reopen FF.

When I go through this sequence, I notice that the screen will flash once VERY quickly before opening the home page.

FF seems to function normally otherwise.

I'm not sure what category this is under, but there used to be a side window that would come up for me when I would be shopping on Amazon which would check the ratings of the product and let me know by a letter grade whether or not the ratings are reliable. That side window no longer shows up after this latest update. How can I get that back? It was very useful in helping me decide which product to chose!

Добрый день Есть ли возможность установить плагин .xpi в mozilla через cmd. AltLinux. Конечно я уже прочел статьи существующие. Не сработали рекомендации. Можно ли сделать вывод что Firefox 128.0 ESR не поддерживает установку плагинов через cmd? Если да, то можем ли мы сослаться на официальный ответ firefox ? Благодарю за рекомендации.

Firefox keeps closing aftering opening

I normally put the computer to sleep at night, rather than powering down (although I do that periodically). After waking the computer, and clicking Firefox open, the browser loads with the two or three tabs I last had open, and within the minute closes. There's no warning or pop-up window saying what happened. I open it again, and within the minute it closes again. This happens four times. On the fifth try, Firefox opens without the previous tabs and with just one "New Tab" showing. After that it's fine. Also, it doesn't happen if I wake the computer and let it sit for a while before sitting down.

This is an oddity that I can live with. I'm just curious about what's going on.

I have used Firefox for many years and been most satisfied. However, for the last several days when I click to load one of my bookmarked You Tube pages, I get a blank screen except for a shaded 3-line menu and three circles, none of which are responsive. If I click to the home You Tube page I get a shaded outline of the videos but no images and the shaded spots do not respond.

I have cleared cookies and site data and temporary files several times, which will allow me access to ONE You Tube channel, but if I click to another, the same blank screen appears and I cannot return to my accessed channel, it also has blanked out.

Quite puzzled about this, every other site I frequent works perfectly well on Firefox, but You Tube does not. However, You Tube works PERFECTLY WELL on Microsoft Edge and, I suspect, other browsers, so I do not think it is a problem on their end.

Please advise what the next step(s) should be.

I cannot get into my browser. My Thunderbird Account has been ruined by upgraging to a new version, plus my folders are scewed and many are not avail to me. You have really upgraded my computer to the point it is useless. Thanks

I have used thunderbird for many years. Now my system is useless. I have an excellent computer, but because of your previous upgrades nothing works. My folders names don't match what is in the folders. Many folders are not accessable. I am 85 years old. I don't know where to go to get help. THis new upgrade has left me without a browser. I couldn't get on my regular Zoom meeting this morning. I;m happy some of your super techs are happy with your changes. I can't get it. One more thing my computer doesn't have. I have been using Firefox desktop for over 15 years. However, I frequently encounter websites which do not run well on Firefox. Recent examples I remember are Virgin Atlantic, and Holiday Autos. My bank website is another relevant example. I have to switch to Chrome, which does not have this problem. Considering that Firefox releases updates rather frequently I'm surprised this has not been addressed.

Last week I tried to open the email sent by Avidxchange, a website payment company. The email opened and told me that I had a payment. So I pressed the option to open the details portion of the email and receive a message that site would not open.

I have been using the site for payment from 3 or 4 accounts for several years and suddenly it will not open.

What do I need to do to get it to open like it has been doing for years?
