Every time I use YouTube on Firefox it feels like a mental torture. It starts off with micro-stutters initially - annoying but nothing crazy. After some time the loading speed of the website and the videos themselves increase dramatically. And eventually it becomes unusable:

• Scrolling feels like the website is running at 30 fps
• The videos take several seconds to load
• It also takes multiple seconds to catch up when you select a specific moment of the video

The only solution so far has been restarting Firefox entirely, just close and open and pray. Then the problem comes back after some time.

Solutions I Tried:

• Disabling AdBlock (didn't work)
• Enabling Hardware Acceleration at all time (didn't work)
• Uninstalling unwanted Extenstions (didn't work)

All of these problems disappear when using Chrome or Edge.

After updating to Firefox 128.3.0esr a few days, ago my Hotmail email application started freezing after printing emails. I assume this freezing issue is tied to the update, because I have never experienced this with Firefox before updating to 128.3.0esr. I can open and print an email, but after doing that the screen for that tab freezes.

Other open tabs in FF are not affected while this freeze occurs in the tab with my Hotmail/Outlook webmail. The other tabs all remain fully functioning, even if one of the open tabs is for my Hotmail email. I can scroll through messages and perform all normal email functions in the other open tabs, but if I want to print an email, then that tab will freeze just like the first one.

I cannot reload the page when this occurs. The only solution is to shut that tab and start over with a new tab. I have tried shutting down and restarting Firefox with a new session, but the freeze issue persists after printing an email. This problem does not occur with Safari. Is there a solution for this?

Noticed earlier today that after a Firefox update two icons appeared on the taskbar. Now I'm finding that whenever I try open Firefox from the taskbar it doesn't remember my previous session and looks as if I've signed out, Firefox behaves normally if I launch from the start menu.

I'm using Firefox Browser Windows MSIX package, mozzilla-MSIX - 1.0 v1.3.1.0 (64-bit). On Windows 11 Pro v23H2 build 22631.4169.

Sorry to disturb but its been two days and I am unable to access my google accounts (work and private) through firefox in anyway. I have done all the basic fixes I can think of but with no success. I have deleted caches, checked plug ins, rebooted firefox went through the trouble shooting mode, followed advice in the community forum, tired loging in from google linked accounts. Spoke to my our internal IT support at work but nothing has solved the issue as yet, spoke to google support.

My assumtion is that it has to be the browser as I am able to log into google with another browser but firefox is my perfered browser and would like to use it again as such.

Please advise.

i have m2 mac book air with 15.1 Beta (24B5035e) OS when i try to download firefox for my laptop it always defaults to 64-bit version not arm64 version due to this i am facing multiple performance issues. I searched online but it seems that no one has my problem. I like to use firefox but i am not able to.

New browser opens everytime i click on a link.

I have a problem that has started in Firefox whereby a new browser opens up everytime I click on a link. I can end up with 10 Girefox browsers ope at ny one time. How can I stop this please?

I have Windows 11 on my computer, it is up to date, and I have downloaded Firefox several times and yet it keeps telling me it has a problem, shuts down and restarts . I have lost many downloads and emails because of it. I just made an e mail and just before I finished it to send, it told me there was a problem, it needed to restart and the email was lost. The same is with Windows 11. I have downloaded it many times, saved pages , news etc. and when I open the document or item, it tells me that I need to update my browser It is not my computer. I have even at times done Recovery and eventually have the same problem app

Ever since Firefox upgraded to 128.3.0esr (Linux, 64-bit) a few days ago, ALL links are being underlined (this never used to be the case).

"Always underline links" is unchecked (settings -> general -> browsing)

"layout.css.always_underline_links" is set to "false" (about:config)

It seems that 128.3.0esr is ignoring the above settings.

a friend or roommate of mine is having issues successfully importing a backup of his passwords and bookmarks. he has a backup downloaded on another part of the hard drive. I've also read that firefox stores it's own back up during an update. any possible way that might work better?

Since updating Firefox today and setting my profile as the default (since the update required me to make a backup) I haven't been able to click tabs. I can make new tabs and open link in new tabs, but i cannot click from the main tab that opens when firefox opens to any other tabs, ctrl + 2 also doesn't work. I can't even open settings because it automatically opens it in a new tab.

It looks like they are loading correctly, since i can see the mini popup if I hover over the tab.

Whenever i change Firefox window sizes(moving to second monitor) or full screen on other videos, random YouTube videos in the background will start unpausing and randomly playing.

My firefox installation failed to play any videos. It would load the video forever (longest time was 15 minutes) and never actually play; this persisted on all media sites I tried and was exclusive to firefox (other browsers worked fine). I reinstalled firefox entirely as a last resort. I now cannot sign in with my account to sync any of my browser data.

I use firefox on three places: macOS laptop, windows PC, and mobile phone (ios). When I try to sign in on the windows PC (the new installation), it lets me sign in and then says the sync failed and I need to sign in to sync data. It forces me to verify my sign in every single time. even if I just signed in and hit the sync option, it makes me sign in and verify my account again. It has been an hour of troubleshooting and I'm so goddamn frustrated with this. Never had any issues like this in the eight years I've used FF, but this mess makes me want to switch browsers entirely. IDK what to do.

A couple of weeks ago my Firefox desktop suddenly stopped loading images correctly. This is especially true for image-heavy websites like Tumblr. Images will either not load or only partially load. It takes several refreshes to get even 75% of images to load properly (including Shift+Ctrl+R). My Internet connection and speed are normal. Weirdly, other browsers loaded images fine at first, but now they're laggy, too? They still work better in comparison, though. And the Internet on my iPhone and iPad are perfectly fine.

I've tried all of these multiple times: Restarting my PC, Internet, and router. Disabling certain extensions (especially those for Tumblr and ad blockers). Restarting in Troubleshoot Mode without extensions. Reducing number of tabs.

I tried the different Profile trick I found Googling this issue to death, and it works, but I want to fix my default profile's issues if I can. Oh, and YouTube is insufferable to watch and crashes the browser, but I suspect that might have to do more with what YouTube's trying to do with ad blockers. Especially since Chrome isn't much better on that count (aside from the crashing).

Edit: This issue started occurring around the time I downloaded the last Firefox update before the latest one. I thought installing the latest one might solve the problem, but it didn't. This might just be a coincidence.

I find that I can not run or even access the macro function in google sheets. These functions work fine in all other browsers. The menu items are grayed out and just like the macro buttons, they do nothing when clicked. I find many other talking about this with no resolution. I do find it odd there there is nothing listed about this omission in the Firefox help forums.

I just wasted 3 hours trying to figure out why my ComfyUI (local AI image generator) stopped working with Firefox. There were no error messages from ComfyUI, it just failed to load workflow files.

It turns out that it's because Firefox is installed as a snap package and wherever the snap configuration for Firefox lives thinks it knows better than I do what files and directories on my system I can access in Firefox.

I also had this problem with trying to open PDFs in my home directory where I kept getting access denied errors. I tried to solve the problems with the snap version and found several proposed solutions by google search which people claimed worked but did not.

I finally found a web page that described how to uninstall the snap package and install an alternate non-snap version of Firefox, and now everything works like I expect it to.

How do I make sure this snap version does not ever come back?

I have been using a usrChrome.css in my profile to create multi-row tabs. (Why cant Mozilla see the need for this with 4K monitors?) The Oct update broke this and I cannot get FF to load the css file that has worked for more than a ywar.

Help please?
