Is this a bug or config problem?

Occasionally, FF (Linux desktop) starts using a lot of memory. I kill tabs (sometimes it is OK to kill YouTube or X, sometimes not)

Eventually it starts impacting the system using so much memory. I terminate the FF instance. Often. More often than not. There is a separate task still running and I get the "Firefox is still running" when I try to restart. I then kill the remaining FF task via the OS or the process monitor. Then FF restarts.

Is this an issue with addons (I am running very few - uBlock Orign, and Privacy Badger and Cookie AutoDelete. Are the only ones active most of the time) Or is it an actual bug with garbage collection, and tasks getting away? Or is it an OS issue?

I'm attempting to set up Firefox in a newly installed OS and have logged into my Sync account. Many aspects seem to be loaded in, but the status via the Settings is stuck at "Syncing..." despite waiting several hours. Quitting Firefox results in a crash window popping up.

There are no files in the weave/logs directory. The weave/failed directory has multiple json files; most almost completely empty. addons.json has an ID, but that's pretty much it.

Deleting the .mozilla directory and starting over yielded no change in behavior.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Installed Firefox 138.0+Linuxmint1+Virginia as an update on my Linux mint computers, and now the bookmark toolbar is gone. I have right clicked the menu bar and set Bookmark toolbar to "always show", but it does not show. I have gone into settings as well. What did version 138.0 do with my bookmark toolbar?

Running Linux Mint 22 and FF 138.0.3. Normal practice is to leave 2 or 3 FF windows open on shutdown so the same windows and tabs will re-open on future boot-ups when opening FF. In the last several versions of FF as well as of the OS, those tabs appear on boot but display random text within a random tab for a given window. Also, the highlighted icon in the tray does not match the window that has opened. If I click and re-click the tray icons, they eventually display as expected.

i am having problems to install firefox 135.0 on linux mint 19.3 and if can get instructions that work looked on internet i havent found help there is there a sure fire way to solve this problem ?

I'm using Linux Mint cinnamon 22 and have the latest version of Firefox installed or updated from the app updates. Firefox was already installed and is my preferred browser. But i have the problem when i go to the settings page i see a message on top (picture attached with this post) that says "Your browser is manged by your organization".

Which is simply not true. This is my personal laptop and it belongs to me. I see an answer from Linux mint devs that they will take it up with Mozilla. But that was three years ago. Can this message be ignored or is it still the case? For peace of mind, how do i verify that something is not managing my device?

When I attempt to use Firefox autofill for address/credit card/etc, Linux will prompt for Root password. After entering root password, everything freezes. I have no access to mouse or keyboard and my entire OS become unresponsive. Besides the hangup, my firefox tabs randomly crash as well with the following bug tag: https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/3020d645-af46-4821-bbfc-e4d680250213. I don't know if the two are related, but both eventually lead my my OS freezing with only hard power down. Every time I try to use autofill, it freezes my OS. I can keep replicating the issue.

When I visit a page which contains a Google Doc spreadsheet or try to open a Google Spreadsheet the page often fails to render properly and what I see is my desktop background instead of the Google doc element or Google doc sheet. Please see attached. This has been happening for ages and I resorted back to Chrome for such pages but now I'd like to see if it can be resolved.

Looking for a fix on a right-click issue that I keep having...

When using Linux Mint (Cinnamon), the right-click context menu occasionally becomes misaligned with the cursor position. Attached image shows a right click on the text box in the right browser window triggering a popup in the left browser window.

This most frequently happens when:

• Multiple windows are open AND
• The window being right-clicked on is "snapped" into place (by dragging to the side of the screen)

Error seems to occur most frequently on windows snapped to the right-hand-side of the screen.

Context menu placement is offset by an arbitrary amount determined at time of window-snapping. E.g., moving the cursor down 1 inch in the example image below will move the menu down 1 inch as well. Un-snapping the window, and re-snapping can adjust menu-cursor-offset distance.

Running Linux Mint 22 on Dell desktop. On bootup, no bookmarks and message with link to restore them. Restarting computer sometimes works after multiple tries but often does not, currently on FF 138.0.3 but this problem has come up on several previous versions of Mint as well as FF. Now more frequent. No security or other software apps have been added or changed.

The last time I got the bookmarks to show I used the FF Save Bookmarks function to save them to a stick. That file shows on the stick as a .json file. Mozilla's choice, not mine. Manage Bookmarks in the hamburger menu generates a pop-up "Library" that will not access the .json file.

I am using Linux Mint in Dark Mode. Most emails which come through are easily read in the panel. See attached.

But others are practically unreadable in Dark Mode. See attached.

How do I adjust the settings so that the unreadable ones become readable in the panel. Thank you in advance or any help.

Hi, I watch specific streaming live show on YouTube every week. Unfortunately, I always have to play it in non-Firefox browser, because the video freezes every couple minutes, while audio track is still playing in the background. Based on the comments from the stream chat, other people have this issue too. Why? How to fix it? It is annoying. Internet connection is ok. Other browsers no issue. Hi Team, I am using Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon. Cinnamon version is 4.6.6. The issue is that I was browsing and by mistake I selected one tab then dragged it for sometime and then released the tab but that created a new window and now the old windows are not visible in ALT + Tab function. The windows are showing in the Firefox task manager and also the box icon in the top right corner in that "open tabs". Now I am not able to even change the window or able to access the opened tabs. Attached the screenshot and as you can see in that there are total 4 windows showing in firefox and one as active but in the bottom on the firefox icon you can see its only 1 window. How can I access the remaining 3 windows? Found one ticket (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1477845) in this the recommend solution does not work. When I try to click on the window 1 tabs then I do not get any response. I tried both the solution but none worked.

Since the latest update, when I right-click on a bookmark or an item in the history list (from the menu or the bookmarks toolbar), I still get the menu that has items like "Open in new tab" or "Edit Bookmark".

However, the focus for the mouse stays on the previous menu, so that I can't click on anything in the "right-click menu", instead it is interpreted as a click in some random item in the previous menu.

Going into troubleshoot mode didn't help, so I don't think it's my configuration causing this.

I often run into issues with PDFs in Firefox Linux. They either appear totally blank (typically after suspend/restore), or they appear with the desktop background showing through (as in the attached screenshot).

Hard refreshing the page doesn't change anything, opening a new tab and opening the PDF again doesn't change anything, opening a new window and loading the PDF doesn't change anything.

It renders correctly in Chromium.

Firefox 126.0 using the recommended performance settings on Mint 21.3, nvidia quadro p620 using the official nvidia drivers v535.171.04-0ubuntu0.22.04.1

I updated firefox just yesterday or earlier today idk and the right click menu is so long with multiples of the same and they DO NoThInG! Linux Mint 22 Cin. 6.8.0-55 Generic Kernel

I am on a LinuxMint machine (21.2 - Cinnamon), using Firefox for LinuxMint 001-1.0 - 127.0(?)

When trying to access https://onlineradiobox.com/us/draculascastle/, Firefox reports a playback error. Chromium is opening it with no problems.

Firefox is also opening other stations on the onlineradiobox, without a problem. Tried all kinds of setting changes to no avail.

Can you please HELP?

I use tiling for my windows. After minimizing and then restoring the windows, the tab bar is no longer displayed. If I don't tile the windows, this error doesn't occur. I'm using the latest version of Mint Cinnamon. This error also occurred in debug mode.
