Even though I have browser.privateWindowSeparation.enabled set on "false", private windows appear separate regardless and it is bothering me. I restarted my browser, logged out and then back in, toggled the setting on and off again, but the damn thing stays in this uncomfortable spot that would be awkward to explain as opposed to simply having it blend in with the other windows innocuously. How do I fix this?

The icon for private browsing has recently re-appeared on my taskbar despite having browser.privateWindowSeparation.enabled set to false in about:config.

I've had this setting configured ever since the update which completely changed the appearance/behavior or private browsing and it has worked correctly up until today (14/06/24).

Is there a new setting that I have to adjust in order to "merge" the windows together as I'm not a fan of having the private browsing icon on my taskbar.

Is it possible to install Firefox (or at least the profiles) onto an external SSD (i.e., not the C: drive)? If so, how?

Note: this is not about migration/backup/recovery of profiles. Nor is it about where files are downloaded by default.

Windows 11 is consuming nearly all of the C: drive. I badly need to get Firefox (and later Thunderbird) onto my E: drive. I further note that the installer gives no options whatsoever as to the destination drive.

Most of the help I've found on the web is clearly outdated.

Nightly updated this morning and the help menu from the sandwich has stopped working. The menu options display, but none of them function. Mouse click makes the menu disappear as if it's going to show the panel attached to the option.

Hi, how can I zoom in and out on websites without changing any display or layout? For example, on some sites, zooming changes the layout of the text so that it all fits on the screen. Or zooming on some sites doesn't affect the size of the images, only the text. How can I zoom in so as to see the page in its original layout but with a wider view, thus preserving the scales of all the elements (as if I were zooming in on a picture) ? (in the screen below, zooming change the relative scale of the elements) Thank you for your help.

Is it possible to save/export (and then restoring) the home screen icons/shortcuts without using Firefox sync?

I want to save its state on my disk so I can restore it later, after formatting, for example. I don't really use any sync features and I actually don't want to sign up for yet another online service if I can help it.

Hi! I wish to edit my limit on how instances firefox runs but i cant. I searched up how to change but cant find the option for it. It said that i should just untick use recommended setting in performance but all that happens is tht i get anotheter option to untick hardware accleration.

My Firefox is the most recent version 126. I am having trouble with pop-ups being blocked. I have added the website to the pop-up exception list. When I go to the site, it shows me the little icon showing I have added exceptions for this site. However; the pop-up still gets blocked.

The site is: https://www.foxit.com/ I try clicking the Log In drop down then Foxit Account. Before this would pop-up the log in screen for the site but since version 125, it does not. I just updated to version 126 to see if that resolved it before creating this post but it didn't. Thus I am here trying to get help.

There should be a feature where you can copy the link to particular text on a webpage (much like when you click on a Google result for a certain part of an article). Where do I suggest features for Firefox?

Something happened with your new update, and now my computer is not working. i cannot get my emails to come even though i choose the email button. The wheel just keeps turning and turning, and will not ever get to the emails. The same thing happens when i try other favorites buttons on the top of the page. i do not know the correct words to describe what i am trying to say because i am not tech savvy at all. i am a senior citizen who needs my computer to work again. What has happened? i do not understand any of the directions given to me when you have answered me today. i do not understand the details! i am very frustrated right now, and have spent a lot of my day trying to get my computer working the way it did yesterday. A while back the behavior of the ctrl+shift+t shortcut changed from reopening tab in the current window to reopening tab in the current window or reopening last closed window which for me and a lot of other people too made it worse. There's been a thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1421356 but it's been archived without a real solution. Is there now a way like a about:config toggle to bring back the old functionality? I really miss the old behavior.

Just the other day I started getting these popups from "anti virus service" that keeps popping up on my screen. I do not nor never did have McAfee on my system. I did a deep search, and there is no program on my computer, nor in my startups, nor in my popups allowed relating to this. It is only a problem with Firefox. Any solutions?

Hello. I have an issue with Firefox. Last week Facebook stopped showing images when run on Firefox. These are in the Feed and photos, etc. I tried refreshing, clearing cookies, history and cache. I changed enhanced tracking but nothing stops this. Are there any suggestions to repair this or could it be a bug? I work on Windows 10. Please help.

I was looking for an item that would be a couple of years back in my history, only to discover that my history now only goes back a year and 3 months… Exactly, as of today, I don't know if that's meaningful. Does anyone have any idea what might've happened, and how I can restore the rest of my history? Thank you!

I'm on a Mac using Mojave, with Firefox version 115.8.
