Since updating to Firefox 28 on Windows 8.1 (64bit) I can't permanently remove the Search Bar from the UI. This isn't a third party addon, and I know how to use Customize to drag the Search Bar off the UI. Unfortunately every time I close Firefox, the next time I open it, the Search Bar is back.

How to I keep it from coming back?

Thanks,

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

If you have software like Advanced SystemCare that might reset some files to older versions to protect these files against changes then check the settings or uninstall this software.
