Sometime my website renders 50% of the intent. Its supposed to be a "masonry gallery, fullwidth, 100%" as seen on this link: http://the7.dream-demo.com/gallery/albums-masonry/albums-masonry-2col-sidebar/

My problem can be seen in these screenshots: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B2XQPg_PgVhFczIxRXFiZmk2RUE&usp=sharing

It also seems to load 50% of the code sometimes. Mouseover-gestures doesnt appear at all, and some functions is not showing up.

I've tried Opera, Chrome, IE, Safari, etc in OS X and Windows. Firefox is the only browser with this problem. Problem affects Wordpress sites, but I also have reports about Joomla sites (www.spjelkavika.no) who have problem with content skewing/appearing at wrong places, with firefox only.. I've also tried different computers, deactivating everything in browser, cleaning cache, etc..

Here is a paste from IRC-London #firefox:

I'm trying to solve issues with firefox on my page. I mentioned this yesterday to another memer of this chatroom, he's not online now. Issues can be seen on these screenshots: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B2XQPg_PgVhFczIxRXFiZmk2RUE&usp=sharing

Rendering the "canvas" to 100% fullwidth fails some times.. And when you've had the problem 1 time, you'll start getting it more times. I have it more or less every time now.

Person who tried this yesterday had to use 1920x1080 resolution and navigate on my site a lot before it happened 1 time. So the problem was reproduced at least 1 time. I can't remember if he reproduced this in smaller resolution, but I can at my Air and HP Envy 14" with 1366x768px without trying too hard.

My site: www.atefoto.no (Wordpress 3.8, The7 theme)

I don't know if this is a firefox bug, or if its something with javascript trying to do things at the same time as images loads up. Any help is appretiated.

My English is quite bad, its not my native language. I hope (if you find a bug) that you also file the bug. This problem also occurs to several joomla and wordpress sites where content is beeing misplaced/skewed.

I've tried IE, Chrome, and several other browsers.. I've tried PC/MAC. Firefox is the only browser with this issue - independent of OS. My/our firefox version is 26.0, and we use Norwegian language. Thanks.

Btw, I'm also a total noob when it comes to coding, so please be gentle.

New info (at least for me).. The7 theme is using the "Pixastic Image Processing Library" http://www.pixastic.com/lib/ .. This worked on earlier versions of firefox (pre 26.0). I don't know whats been changed, but devs at pixastic and the7 is looking into it.

FYI, I think a lot of joomla and wordpress sites are using this lib in their gallery-module, so you might get more questions about this.

The page loads fine for me.
It should work all the time or never.
If it only fails sometimes or differently every time then something else is wrong.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Did you try a new profile to check for issues with your current profile folder?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

You gotta try harder than just 2-3 clicks.. Your own dev's at IRC London #firefox reproduced this "canvas" problem, but I didn't get any answer if it was firefox, wordpress, JS or theme problem.

Open www.atefoto.no Click on "Gallery", then click one by one sub-menus under, and then click on gallery again. You'll experience this glitch more often after the first one appears. I'm now having this issues more than 50% of every times I load any gallery.

"If it only fails sometimes or differently every time then something else is wrong. " No, It gradually appears more often, but in the same manner independent of OS and computers.

I've tried these steps you mention before a complete reinstall of firefox including profile removal.

I've tried on 4-5 different computers at home, 3 different OSs. I guess most your devs at #firefox @ London is using Linux too.

I don't think this have to be something with profiles since it fails on varius computers with different OSs.

Check my screenshot. One is from OS X, rest is from Win.

This also happends at Demosite of the wordpress theme, it happends at a Joomla-site with different modules too. I do believe it's something with firefox and canvas, but I'm not sure.

Here is from web-console when glitch happends: 17:56:38.178 Unknown property '-moz-filter'. Declaration dropped. landscapes 17:56:38.258 Unknown property 'box-sizing'. Declaration dropped. landscapes 17:56:38.360 NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE: plugins.js:408 17:56:38.380 Bruk av getPreventDefault() er frarådet. Bruk defaultPrevented isteden. jquery.js:4

I'm currently defering javascript, so it cant be that its running while images loads.

I'm on Linux, so I don't know if this is an issue on other platforms.

Do you see the missing images on "Tools > Page Info > Media"?

If code isn't fully loading or there are otherwise issues then it can also be a problem with your ISP and such issues may be difficult to track down.

Did you try a new test profile?

I've tried on OS X, Ubuntu and Windows. All reproduce same glitch in ff 26.0. I'm also using "Norwegian" version if that matters.

Images isnt missing, everyone appears but following happends (also see screenshots):

  • Content of page not 100%, and its skewed to the left in some cases
  • Content in 2 rows, not fullwidth.
  • Mouseover gestures missing like magnify icon and text.
  • Lighbox doesnt open when clicking on image.

In my case this happends more often in Gallery>Landscape

Well I doubt that when this is reproduced by your devs on a differnt ISP. I can also reproduce same problems if I try demopage of the theme. I can also reproduce this problem on Joomla (I'm using wordpress on my sites). I can continue to reproduce problems and making screenshots, as long people check them.

Yes, and no change. Well.. I had to navigate my site quite much before it happened. I also tried a different site, and same thing. After running into this issue once I see it more often.

I'll repeat some info. Image on the right is the correct rendering of page: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2XQPg_PgVhFTEZVaG9ZclhkNVE/edit?usp=sharing

Firefox web-console: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2XQPg_PgVhFNUJSSnd3Qm8tZU0/edit?usp=sharing

Rest of screenshots (folder): https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B2XQPg_PgVhFczIxRXFiZmk2RUE&usp=sharing

On joomla-sites we develope, we have problems with modules getting misplaced and/or skewed. I have no info about that atm, but it seems like those problem relates.

I see that there is a script active to rearrange the images when you change the width of the page in the browser. Looks that the images get aligned on horizontal base line instead of in vertical columns like I see.

I have attached two images with the first showing the page zoomed out to 45% to get all images and the second with a reduced screen width to get only two images next to each other.
The images rearrange themselves without any problems with any window width.
Also no problems with the mouse overs and the lightbox.

Did you do this in http://the7.dream-demo.com/gallery/albums-masonry/albums-masonry-2col-sidebar/ ?

Its a strange problem this.. I can only tell you that your own people at IRC #firefox managed to reproduce this. Difference was that they had to navigate between 2 similar menu-items several times in that demopage, ex:

Gallery>Photos and videos>Masonry 100% width .... and ..... Gallery>Albums masonry>Masonry 100% width

If you try that a couple of times, I bet you reproduce same glitch. Please, try it. When you've done it one time, it will happend more often.

If I close my window now and open my site (www.atefoto.no) it will render "bad". Only way to "fix" this issue temporarily is to clear all browser cache, and I bet people don't do that after visiting a page.

Edit: I'm gonna show you how I experience this glitch.. I'm gonna record my window and post a vid to youtube.. While I'm doing that, please try what I told you above.

Yes, I've managed to see this issue as well when selecting the sidebar item in the menu after having opened the photos & videos page (images not aligned and weird hover effect).
Looks that the script that rearranges the images doesn't kick in.

The images realign when I change the screen dimension, either by dragging the border or by opening a toolbar like the find bar (Ctrl+F). I don't know which event is used to start realigning the images, but it looks that this event isn't fired.

Exactly. Thanks for trying.

Yeah, I've noticed that myself. Since this is a firefox only problem, independent of os, could it be a firefox bug? I've tried chrome, IE, safari, etc..

I'm not a coder or anything, I'm just trying to report it to the right place and get it fixed :-) This has set my page-developement back 1 week. I really hope there is a fix for this.

I see the problem intermittently on the theme demo site.

By default, the container for the images is about 1120px centered (this is consolidated from multiple stylesheets):

<div class="wf-wrap">
  <div class="wf-container-main">
    <div id="content" class="content" role="main">
      <div class="full-width-wrap">
div.wf-wrap {
  max-width: 1200px;
  padding: 0 40px;
  margin: 0 auto;
}
div.wf-container-main {
  margin: 0 -20px;
  padding: 0;
}
div.content {
  width: 100%;
  padding: 0 20px;
  moz-box-sizing: border-box;
}

When the page loads and spreads the images to full width, an inline style appears on div.wf-wrap. With Fx26 maximized on my display (window.innerWidth is 1680px), I get this in the tag:

style="width: 1663px; margin-left: -232px;"

When the page loads with a narrower display of images, I see that no inline style has been added.

In that case, the browser console shows "NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE:" in the following line:

ctx.drawImage(dataImg,0,0,w,h);if(!img.__pixastic_org_image){canvas.__pixastic_org_image=img;canvas.__pixastic_org_width=w;canvas.__pixastic_org_height=h;}else{canvas.__pixastic_org_image=img.__pixastic_org_image;canvas.__pixastic_org_width=img.__pixastic_org_width;canvas.__pixastic_org_height=img.__pixastic_org_height;}}else if(Pixastic.Client.isIE()&&typeof img.__pixastic_org_style=="undefined"){img.__pixastic_org_style=img.style.cssText;}

I can't tell whether that is the reason the inline style is missing from div.wf-wrap, or whether it indicates that the script is halting at an earlier place. Either way, it requires more than I know to sort out.

Thanks a lot for investigating!

Well, its above my knowledge. Its very confusing even to determine if its a ff bug or script bug. I know pixastic-lib is compatible with firefox, but I don't know if this "canvas" is.

Please feel free to submit a bug-report if you think firefox could adress this issue. My English is quite rusty (not native language), and I don't feel certain that I could deliver this issue I since my bad typing could get in the way. The issue is very similar to problems with joomla-modules (not javascript). Ex. sometimes the modules get placed in a row or at bottom when its supposed to be tiled 100% in width.

I don't know who's to blame, so I'm also going to report back to devs at pixastic and The7-themebuilders.
