Your "More System Details" didn't list your extensions, the class of add-ons most likely to alter pages. You might want to review those by hand because some malware cleaners will miss problem extensions.

Go to the Add-ons page, either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.

Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Thanks for your help however i cant seem to navigate to the appropriate page with the buttons at the top to get into the options page to uncheck the pop-up and get into the exceptions to check. Click on what firefox button...where is that?

The Disable or remove Add-ons article explains how to open the Firefox Addons Manager via the Firefox button. If you don't see an orange Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window, maybe you have enabled the Menu bar? In that case, click on the Tools menu, and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.

The Firefox button is explained here, with screenshots:

Get Malwarebytes and run it regularly. Also get Adblock Plus from Firebox add-ons. Those 2 have eliminated ads and pop- ups for me.

Link to CNET removed by moderator. Malwarebytes can be downloaded directly from the software provider and a link is provided in this article: Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware
