I'm not sure which of the troubleshooting steps you tried, there are so many articles here...

I will list a couple of things and if you haven't already tried them, please do:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

If that doesn't help, try the sites in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

By the way, if you have the "avast! Online Security" add-on, that can mess up some sites. You may want to try disabling it on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then find avast! and disable it. If a link appears on the extension to restart Firefox, go ahead and do that. If you are in a regular (not private) session, Firefox should restore your tabs after the restart.

Thank you so much for the quick replies. I did all the tips above and none has work, I do not have the Avast! Online add-on, I installed the CSS reloader, I installed Firefox again and still the same, I got no clue what is going on. If it was the firewall Facebook will look the same and it gets in there perfectly =(

I got no cookies, no Cache, the only add-on I got from avast is a WebRep and is already disabled.

Any ideas what else it could be??

This happens only FIrefox? Or with other browsers?

Thank you for the screen shot. I noticed the page is still loading (the "throbber" is still circling on the tab, there is a still an "x" in the address bar to stop loading). Does it ever finish?

To make sure you can access the site where the style sheet is stored, can you try opening it directly? It will be just a jumble of words (see screen shot), don't be alarmed by that. If it opens, then go back and try the main site again:

toddy_victor it happens in all browsers, chrome & IE.

jscher2000 it does stops, but it never changes the page and doesn't even load correctly, it takes forever loading the page.

I even tried Etsy.com and in Firefox got the same problem, but in Chrome or IE it works good.

Does my computer is possessed? =(

Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.

Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions. If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow Update button or a red Update now button, please update these immediately.

To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

Done with the plug-ins status, they are all updated and also the profile.

jscher2000 those 2 pages display problem loading page. The only thing is that it could be the firewall or proxy but I go no idea if I got any of those 2.. and if I had a firewall why would those 2 pages wouldn't load... I mean odd... =(

Hi Marieliux, I notice that both have the word "assets" in the address. Is it possible that your security software has a filter that tries to exclude ads or other annoyances by blocking on that word (or any specific words)?

more options

How do I know that??? I never used the Avast, but my technician loves it... how could I know or where I check that??

more options

I'm sorry, I don't use AVAST and can't install it anywhere to test. Could you ask your technician whether they've ever heard of this issue?

more options

I'll check the Avast and also the firewall because is brain consuming this... thanks tho! =)

I uninstalled the Avast, took the firewall down, and still got the same issue... I don't know what else I could do...

I think the next possible culprits are your DNS provider (which is not finding those servers) and your DSL/cable router (which may have some kind of filter in it).

To check DNS, you can use a command-line utility. It's not very mouse friendly, but you can copy from this message and then right-click > Paste in the command window.

From the Start menu > search box type or paste cmd.exe and press Enter.

At the command prompt, type 'nslookup and pause while it starts up.

Next to the caret (>) type or right-click > paste:

assets3.whicdn.com

I get:

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: cs95.wac.edgecastcdn.net
Address: 72.21.91.125
Aliases: assets3.whicdn.com

Do you get anything?

Next one:

s-passets-ec.pinimg.com

I get:

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: cs89.wac.edgecastcdn.net
Address: 72.21.91.118
Aliases: s-passets-ec.pinimg.com

Do you get anything?

If you want to paste results here, right-click and choose Mark, then draw a rectangle with your mouse over the area to copy, and press Enter.

Thanks!! I copy what appeared, and I assume it must be the problem.

192.168.1.1 is an address (gateway) on your router.

You can try to reset (power off/on) the router.

I assume other nslookup queries work — like www.google.com and support.mozilla.org — or you probably wouldn't be able to visit either of those sites...

I'm not sure why you're timing out on the edgecastcdn ones. Usually this would be a problem with your internet service provider.
