Hi redpanda, The website does not supply identity information. The connection between Firefox and the website is not encrypted or only partially encrypted and should not be considered safe against eavesdropping.......Click more information for more details maybe there will be an answer........

Hello there.sorry for you still having that problem with some websites make sure you downloaded firefox from its own website and with no installation error.if that so download it agian from here link http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ before this you must fully un install firefox and delete everything that belongs to firefox from the Local Disk C.......and then re install it

Can't find where to download old versions of Firefox. Now my yahoo mail is giving me the identity error. Is its an issue on my end or with the new version of Firefox.

Hi redpanda,

I'm not totally sure, but I think everything is fine and there's actually no problem as such. Both the exclamation mark symbol and the shield symbol (appears when the whole site is encrypted, but does not supply identity) are new from Firefox 20-something, as far as I know. I haven't ever seen them before FF 25 either.

Even if such a symbol starts to appear on a page, the problem is with the site and not with you or your Firefox installation. The website either tries to use encryption, but has "forgotten" to encrypt some part of it, or the site isn't proving its identity (e.g. company name). That doesn't mean it's bad - it happens for https://support.mozilla.org when you're not logged in.

However, on sites showing one of these symbols, you can't be totally sure which company / organization set up that website. You wouldn't want to do, say, online banking, flight booking, university enrolment and the like (and I wouldn't do emails on such a site). Posting in a forum, like this one, is still fine, imho.

By the way, when you log in, many sites switch to a nicely encrypted version and do provide identity information (like this forum here) and the symbol changes to a green lock. If your favourite website doesn't do that, contact their webmaster / website admin and tell them about it, and that you want a more secure website. They'll only improve their security if enough people ask for it ;-)

There is likely mixed content on that page as you can see in the pop-up.

You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer;Ctrl+Shift+K) and possibly refresh the page to see which lines get red text with a mixed content warning.

Firefox blocks mixed active content (e.g. JavaScript) by default, but shows a warning in case of mixed passive content like images.

I seem to be getting more and more of these warnings now that I have Firefox version 26. I don't remember getting these warnings before. So what you guys are saying is there is not much I can do to fix it.

Such mixed content is possibly coming from ads on those pages.
You will only see this notification for mixed content if you use a secure https connection.
Web servers need to make sure that all content comes via a secure connection if they support a secure connection.
Note that Firefox will always show "This Website does not supply identity information" if an unencrypted http connection is used.

It appears to be something with https and http. I am using yahoo. mail and when https was off no warning icon.
