I see questions about people not getting the Windows task bar, but I have the opposite. My Windows setting is for auto-hide. But when I load Firefox, the Windows task bar ALWAYS stays on the screen. It will not slip out of view. I leave Firefox and things go back to normal. (I didn't want to update to FF23, but it did it on a computer restart-23.0.1)

You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.

Philipp: Thanks, but it ended up being a Windows issue that appeared on two different computers. By forcing Explorer to close (Task Manager/End Process), the functionality of the auto-hide came back.

For Cor-el: I tried that and successfully lost the memory of the tabs and various windows that were open. [Some reopened, but not all] But as you can see above, the solution was through Windows. Although reluctantly, I saw your tip and thought the the focus was going to be on the Firefox toolbar-not my focus. That suspicion was confirmed the moment I opened up the program. Fortunately I had saved the old file, so I was able to restore THAT aspect of the program. But I appreciate you chiming in.
