Will my screen ever show normal sizes again?
Up to FF 21 I enjoyd this browser a lot. Then the update to 22 really messed up, well let's just say everything. Images look bigger than they actually are, pages suddenly come with scroll bars and I feel i have to move further away from the screen to have a toatl view of a website.
Given all the comments, I am wondering if Mozilla is reconsidering the implementation of this huge mistake and undo it in one of the upcoming updates?

This may sound like a silly question to ask... but is your browser's zoom level set to 100%?
Also check your computer's screen resolution.
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
- Open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

No, and in a while Chrome and IE are doing it too (chrome 30-31, IE 11). So you need to set your display to 96dpi or the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0 trick.

please make sure that you have set windows to display at 100% in the windows control panel > appearance > display. more information about that is available at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-the-text-on-your-screen-larger-or-smaller

I've set the Windows to 100% but that influences everthing on my computer. It's too small now. I did use the safe mode option and adjusted the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.0 which kind of gives a better view.
I think I've done everthing described in many posts and it's kind of frustrating that my browser forces me to make all kinds of changes instead of just working out of the box, like it did the last 20 years.

20 years ago the most common size for computer monitors was 15", and HD TV's really didn't exist. The few people who had one of those early HDTV's rarely even thought of trying to connect it to a computer.
20 years ago a "big" TV was 27", where now anyone can purchase a 27" computer monitor. And today a 60" TV is fairly common.
Hardware has changed a lot in 20 years, operating system software has changed a lot in 20 yrs, and consumer hardware selection choices has expanded greatly in the last 20 years.
Mozilla could make things work "out of the box" if everyone had the same "boxes" as 20 years ago.
The way I have experienced working with FireFox was that, up to now, it always worked 'out of the box', regardless of the screen sizes or OS. But fair enough, we can't stop progress...
I have changed two standard settings and am using 2 addons just to get at least the idea that what I'm looking at, is what I am supposed to see. Now if that's called progress, call me a chocolate biscuit :)
I got the answer to my questions and with the other remarks I got at least some of my pleasurable experience back.
