Problem with pictures. Pictures uploaded for my wp site show only on Firefox and not on other browsers. Is there a setting to fix it? Thank you

If I use firefox and I upload a photo /picture for my wp site: - Photo will only be visible to those using firefox and not if other browsers are used (eg Safari, Chrome) - Is there a setting to correct this issue? For your info, if I add the same or other photo/picture through Chrome or Safari, then it is visible to everybody regardless of which browser they are using I hope I made it clear enough, Thank you

Did you check the page source to see if you can identify the problem?

Can you post the page code in both situations and/or possibly post a link, so we can check the code?

A link would be good. Also, are you using the native media features of WordPress or are you using a plugin to manage your media? If it's a plugin, you might check on whether there are any known issues with different browsers.

Hello and thks for your answer. Here is a link to show you the problem: http://wp.me/p3CFjO-1Qh I imported the picture using mozilla Firefox. That pic doesnn't show on Safari. If the same pic I import through Chrome or Safari, there won't be any problem. I wish I could understand what the reason is and what is the solution, as I'd like to keep using Mozilla. Thanks for your time and I hope you have an explanation/solution for me. katiazev

I'm not sure I can do this. I'm new to wp... not sure what. However, I find strange to import pics for my posts from any other browser without a problem and when I do the same from MozillaFirefox, that same pic is not visible on Safari Here is an example ( a post with that problem ) just so you can see http://wp.me/p3CFjO-1Qh Thank you for your time katiazev

When I compare Firefox 22 and Internet Explorer 10 I see the image on both. However, IE10 shows an understanding of the character set of your language, while Firefox shows a lot of encoding (% followed by letters and numbers) for the file name. Maybe the problem is somehow related to that? When you upload from Safari, do the files have different names from when you upload from Firefox?

Note that you can see all images in Firefox via "Tools > Page Info > Media"

  • Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden "Menu Bar" temporarily.

The link I gave you is a typical example of my problem. - That post shows the picture in Firefox, but doesn' t on Safari - The picture on that post was uploaded from Firefox - If the same picture with the same name is uploaded from Safari, then it will show on all browsers This is what I do not understand. Why if it is uploaded through Firefox there is a problem and why if it is uploaded by any other browser ( Chrome, Rocketmail, Safari ) There is NO such a problem. There must be a reason and a solution to that. Thanks again for your time

I can see all pics on Firefox. This is not the problem. The problem is with uploaded pics from Firefox that cannot be seen on Safari

Can you post the image path in the case that it doesn't work in Safari?

The problem is not with just ONE picture. The problem is with ANY picture I upload from Firefox. There is no problem with all other browswers just with Firefox. I gave the link as an example so you can see it. The pic is visible in Firefox, but not in Safari. And that happens with any uploaded pic through Firefox

What happens if you copy the URL of such a not working image in Firefox to the clipboard (e.g. via Tools > Page Info > Media) and paste that to the address bar in Safari?

I get this answer: Error 404 page not found

Can you post that URL and also the URL that works when you use Safari to upload the image files?

What is the difference?
