How do applications save their state when they are put in the background and how when they are killed?

已張貼

I would like to know how web apps in Firefox os save their state when they are put in the background and when they are killed.

I was reading this very nice article about application performance here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Performance when the question came to mind but couldn't find any answers.

Hi,

Thanks for this question, I don't know if this article has the exact answer, but maybe it will help you on the trail: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Resources

Here is an index of all articles tagged Firefox OS, to browse for other topics: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/tag/Firefox%20OS

Hi Michelle,

Thank you for your answer but that wasn't what I was looking for. I checked all these Firefox OS resources before posting my question and couldn't find anything related.

I think the answer you are looking for is; When a program shuts down, it will save any current information for later.

Hi fredmcd,

Your answer is more like a simplified version of my question. I appreciate that you are trying to help, but it's not really constructive to answer if you don't know.

To make my question more specific, I would like to know if something equivalent to "onSaveInstanceState" for Android, exists in Firefox OS.
