truesuite website logon extension uninstall--how?
I want to remove true suite from my HP dv4 4270us, 64bit, 6 gig mem, i3 2350m, a whole bunch of HP programs. NO finger print reader.

If an extension has a Disable button but not a Remove button, it usually was installed by external software. You could manually rip it out, or you can uninstall the external software and that should take care of it.
Regarding uninstalling, I found this article in a search, but can't test it myself. Does it work for you?

If you want to track down the extension but keep the rest of that software, most likely you need to consult the Windows Registry entry Firefox uses to find the extension:
On Windows 7 64-bit, each of those "foreign" extensions creates an entry here showing its location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions
So, what to do at that point? If you delete the extension folder from the C drie and remove the registry entry, Firefox will still have a record pointing to the extension but it will no longer exist. You might also have to delete the database file that stores that record and have Firefox regenerate it. I don't know the risks of that procedure.
Probably easier to just leave it disabled or uninstall the software. Or wait until someone who has experience with this kind of surgery posts further recommendations.
on the firefox extension page there are NO buttons. I don't know how the program got there. I use Spybot S&D and Norton 360 v20, to handle all security. Do I need Simple Pass 2012??

If there are no buttons, it means Firefox has disabled the extension due to incompatibility or security vulnerability and has removed the Enable button.

I'm not an HP customer, so I don't know what good that software is without a fingerprint reader. Does it offer you anything that sounds useful? If not, there's probably no harm in removing it.
