List of Websites which are allowed to set cookies is deleted everytime when browser is being closed (private browsing is activated). How do I fix this?

I just upgraded to Firefox 20.0 and now, apart from my cookies-whitelist having been deleted after the upgrade, it is being deleted every time I close the browser. I've always used private browsing and want to keep it that way, so this bug (I hope it's not intended behaviour) is really annoying. Another thing which has already bugged me since the previous version is, that the cookies set by allowed websites (the ones on the whitelist) are not shown anymore. If cookies have been set, why shouldn't they be shown? The problems persist even with no addons active. I would very much appreciate it if this was fixed or if somebody has a solution to these problems. Thank you.

被選擇的解決方法

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear Site Preferences

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

your private browsing is activated then it is obvious that your cookies will be deleted.

Since I'm using private browsing it's obvious that there aren't any cookies being set in the first place, only from websites that are on my whitelist. The problem is, that these cookies don't show up even when they have to be there (otherwise I wouldn't be able to log in on websites like this here for example) and, the much bigger problem, the LIST of the websites which I allowed to store cookies is always being deleted. Of course the cookies themselves are being deleted (hopefully - like I said, they're not shown in the first place), but the exceptions-list shouldn't be cleared.

Thank you very much! That seemed to be the problem. The "clear history"-button was grayed out, so I didn't look into that. Deactivating private browsing, changing to not clearing site preferences and then activating private browsing again worked though. I must have accidently changed that at some pont. The cookies that are actually stored are still not shown though. But whether this is intended or not, I guess it's not that easy to change.

You're welcome.

You no longer see cookies from a PB mode session in the Cookie Manager when you are in Private Browsing mode.
