How do I stop a web site from loading once the content (text) I want to read is loaded without all the rest of the content continuing to load?
I have only a 4-G connection. Some web sites have so much junk loading it takes forever (feels like) for me to be able to take control of the page (scroll down) to simply read the text that I'm trying to read.
Can I stop the loading once the content I want is there so I can simply proceed without all the stuff I will not view, use or interact with continuing to load and use up my data usage and my time unnecessarily?
You could block images for certain sites from Options > Content using the exceptions for "Load images automatically".
No Script and Adblock Plus.
You can click the combined Stop/Reload button (make sure you click in Stop state) on the location bar or press the ESC key to stop the page loading.
You could also use Flashblock to stop Flash ads.
I was used to separate "Stop" and "Reload" buttons on the navigation bar.
You could put a spacer between the stop and reload buttons to separate them, if you have dragged them away from the right end of the address bar.
If you swap the order of the Stop and Reload buttons then both buttons should stay visible.
