Firefox doesn't have a built-in contact list. Are you trying to do this on a particular website?

If this question is about the Thunderbird email client, there is a different support site over here: https://support.mozillamessaging.com/

Hi 20thumtacker10, are you also using Outlook.com, or a different mail site?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site. This ensures that Firefox doesn't re-use obsolete information after the site has updated in some way.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Hi 20thumtacker10, because I do not know what page you are using, I can't follow your description of what's happening.

Can you give us a URL for the page that isn't working correctly and describe the steps to re-create the problem in more detail?

It also might be helpful to provide a screen shot (suggestions in this article: How do I create a screenshot of my problem?).
