I have a HP Pavilion desktop pc with at660a mother board and have just downloaded the latest Mozilla fire fox and now I cannot open PDF files when I am still on the web I can open then but as soon as I load into downloads on my hard drive all I get is a blank page except for borders etc but no script, incidentally this pc has never used Mozilla firefox. But when I use internet explorer it is all ok, I have Mozilla on all my other PCs and I don't have any problems but they are loaded with an earlier version when I manually try to open with Adobe reader it tells me that the file is corrupt hope you can help thank you.

For some reason, your Firefox is identifying itself as version 9 rather than version 19. If you check Help > About Firefox, can you verify that you have version 19.0.2 or click Check for Updates and get the current version?

Firefox 19 has an internal PDF Viewer. To switch to a different viewer, see this article: View PDF files in Firefox or choose another viewer. Note that this does not apply to earlier versions of Firefox.

Finally, please note that the current versions of Adobe Reader are 10.1.6 and 11.0.2. For your security, please make sure you have a current version.

Since my last reply I have noticed that when log of the web (clicking on read cross) and the click on Mozilla Firefox to access the web again the page I was on previous always comes up until I log off again then the front page comes up but I'm not sure weather it is a time factor because sometimes when I have not used it for a while it comes up with the front page, any suggestions thank you.

Hi semiconductor, can you try to gather a little more data on the time element? In other words, if you completely close all Firefox windows and then wait 1 minute before restarting Firefox, do you get different results from waiting 5 minutes or 10 minutes?

A general observation: if Firefox crashes, then instead of using your "start" setting at the next startup, it will restore your previous session. In the following thread, I described a settings change you can make to have Firefox ask you whether you want to restore your previous session after a crash rather than doing it automatically, in case you want to try it: Firefox will not open to home page as directed in options and settings. Opening in safe mode makes no difference, either. Any ideas?
