search bar not working in ff 15
I upgraded to FF 15 last night and now the Google search bar in the top right hand corner does not work at all. When I click to type nothing happens at all and I cannot get text to enter. Advice anyone ? and many thanks, Stef.

If the cursor blinking try to type "above" the Google name, and hit enter. The cursor stay in the start (|Google) of the Google name by default until you start typing.

haha ! I plead Totally Blonde !! LOL (Thank You) It was as if there was no box there at all because when I clicked the mouse cursor on the box nothing appeared in the box at all, as if I were trying to type in thin air .. But .. I clicked on the box ..(nothing happened) But I started typing as you suggested and Voila !! I see text in the search bar !! This is totally Magic ? Or am I too old for High Tech issues ? LOL I'm fixed and can now enjoy my Thursday WITH Google search ! Enjoy your day and many thanks, Stef.
It is new "trick" in 15.0, enjoy your day too.
You should see a cursor when you click the search bar.
Are you using the default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes)?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I do not get a cursor when I click in the search bar .. But I will investigate and check what you have suggested. many thanks, Stef.
Okay, It 'Appears' that it is the 'LavaFox' version 2 theme (purple AND red) I am using because when I switch to the default theme of FF 15 I get the cursor in the search box and all is well .. Soo, as I HATE the default theme (too plain for me) I will search for a New colourful theme for my browser. Once again, many thanks, Stef.
okay, just a head's up for other possible users with the same problem. I have switched my FF 15 theme FROM LAVAFOX V2 and have Installed the FTDeepDark 3.3.5 theme and everything is working with the search bar now (and in fact this theme looks heaps better) thanks for the support, Stef.
You can try to contact the creator of those themes to inform him about this issue.
I have the same problem with two different desk tops and they were updated 6 days apart, My theme is Nasa Night launch which is from a different developer then Lava fox. So the problem is not with them.
