I updated my Adobe Flash plugin and now I keep getting a message, each time I log on to my email that my browser has blocked it. How can I remedy this?

Can you download the newest version of flash from http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe and see if that works?

Who is your mail provider?

We have lately seen quite a lot of posts with an issue like you have, but haven't seen any progress about the cause and a solution.

My mail server is AT&T or Yahoo Mail.

Your browser is blocking Flash. You must have Flash 9.0 or higher installed and unblocked to run an openmail application. You can download and install the latest Flash Player here.

This is the message I keep getting every time I open my email. I have Flash 11 installed on my computer.

Yes, I've seen another post about this that also mentions AOL and Yahoo mail, so it is possible that there is a problem with the Flash checking code on that site. You can try to contact them and ask to look into this and check it out with Firefox.

Here's what happened: Last week, Adobe updated the way they report the Flash version (not Firefox version but the version of Flash) as part of a Flash update. It seems that Yahoo Mail didn't update their code to check correctly and so it looks like (to them) that Flash isn't working (they can see that you have it installed but the version check code doesn't work).

This should be fixed on the Yahoo side.
