Frequent crashing and stability issues
I currently have Firefox version 3.6.25 and I refuse to update it because every time I do you make the interphase more and more annoying to look at, personally I miss the the 2.0 interphase but cannot get it back.
Despite not being updated Firefox has been performing perfectly till this last month where it has been experiencing nonstop problems as if it had a built in expiration timer to make it stop working when the timer runs out and its really getting on my nerves.
Details of the problem include: 1. frequent crashing without a crash report 2. sometimes when trying to close a tab instead of closing it changes the tab's name to "about:blank" and prevents any tab from being closed till I restart Firefox 3. even in safe mode with everything turned off I still have these problems 4. when it doesn't crash directly sometimes Firefox will perma freeze and never restore itself. I have to use ctrl+alt+delete to force it to close and still get no error reports.

Have you tried looking at these articles-

Hope this helps!
Those are of no help. As I said before I refuse to update firefox until I know for sure I can customize the interphase(keep in mind that I said interphase as in how the everything is arranged, not theme as in how it looks). Everything except Firefox is updated. I also cannot check for crash log reports because it is not writing crash reports it simply closes itself and leaves no mention about it even if I'm forced to close it through task manager. As for the 3rd link the hang isn't during downloading, page history or any of that, it happens during browsing in general but happens most often on Facebook games.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

If you have submitted Breakpad crash reports then post the IDs of one or more Breakpad crash reports (bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page. You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website.
