I feel terrible that you had to use the work "hate" so many times in your submission. In case this helps at all,
bookmarks: I find the management of bookmarks most irrelevant now that the awesome bar finds everything for me. In what way do you want to manage bookmarks?
updates: I assume by your note about updates that you actually hate being prompted about updates. We are working on improving the update experience. Details are at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Program_Management/Programs/Silent_Update
spyware: There is NO spyware installed with Firefox. You are in control of any information that the browser sends to Mozilla. To what "spyware" are you referring?
too much code: I'm not sure what you mean.
runs slow: I see that you're on Firefox 4.0 beta 12. I can assure you that newer release versions, especially Firefox 8, perform significantly better than the older release that you're using. Have you tried updating to a later version?
not fun: I'm sorry to hear that you're not having fun. In what way can we make this more fun? Can I suggest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4a9CKgLprQ&feature=g-trend
What I hate is users playing with Beta pre-release versions of Firefox for a year and then complaining about those unfinished versions, and not even realizing that the release version of what they are complaining about was released 9 months ago - Firefox 4.0 came out 03.22.2011.
hate this it treats me like an idiot = couldn't have said it better.
I'm in a complaining mood today, and I'm complaining everywhere I can.
Everytime I try to open a new Firefox window, I get a notice that I should update.
I DON'T WANT TO UPDATE!!!. I'm happy with what I have. I want to not have to respond to all these messages. I'm tired of it. I'm ready to go elsewhere for my browser. Even back to Explorer, if that's what it takes.
And if you really, really need for me to update, give me a way to find out exactly what I'm updating to. I'm on 3.6.28. If you can update me without changing my interface, fine. But I suspect you can't do that.
Just so you know, I hate tabs. They take away my vertical space, which is shorter already than I want. It's part of the reason I'm not using Explorer. But I suspect you're too cowed by Explorer to not do what's right.
Convince me otherwise.
We know it's Monday...we all are a little bit grouchy...so the solution is...when it's Monday go online with internet exploreeer :D
carl_kaun, I recommend you read https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/926330 which is a user in the safe situation as you who wanted to update but didn't like the user interface of Firefox 12. It is easily possible, so I would try the steps suggested in there. I'm locking this thread since it is several months old. You can always open your own thread at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new
