Recently got infected and firefox wanted to update... was it a real update?
I recently got infected with malware (Trojan.Agent) and at the time firefox wanted to update but I ain't sure if it was a real update or not? I've read that there have been a few problems with malware pretending to be firefox updates plus the update window for it was different to what i've seen over the years.. of course the update screen may have been updated for a new look but I like to be sure.
MalwareByte's isn't picking anything up but not all can pick up viruses. Also one more thing is when you open a new tab you see a square with little lines as the outline (something similar you might see if you select something in photoshop, paint etc) ... again was this a real update because it says i'm on 8.0 but the latest version on here says 8.0.1 and havn't been told of a new update available, wouldn't my version say 8.0.1 if it was update and not just 8.0?
Under 'About Firefox' it says 8.0 Frefox is up to date, You are currently on the release (in bold) update channel

Swarnava, he is using Windows, not Mac. Plus Firefox 8.0.1 was only for the fix crash issue caused by Java on Mac and by older Roboform on Windows.
Windows and Linux users are not getting the update patch from 8.0 to 8.0.1, only Mac users.
