Hi. I'm having an issue with Firefox 8. I updated a little while ago. At first, everything seemed fine, but just today, when I opened Firefox to browse the Internet, it never appeared, though I heard it running. The window itself would disappear every time I tried to access Firefox, despite still showing in the preview window. In addition, every time I clicked to open firefox, multiple windows appear to have opened to the Mozilla start page. Despite this, none of them appear on the desktop when maximized. I have tried to access Firefox through the task manager, restarting my comuputer multiple times, attempted to access Firefox in safe mode, and even re-installed and uninstalled Firefox itself three separate times. I have also attempted to use Ctrl-Alt -Delete as well as Ctrl-Alt-Space-M, and such fixes I have come across in attempt to fix this issue, none of which has resolved this problem Firefox is the main browser that I use. It is frustrating to me that I cannot access the browser. It seems to be functioning well, other than the fact that I cannot see the content I am I am trying to access in anything other than a thumbnail preview displayed when I hover over the desktop icon. Is anyone else having a similar issue, or is this something I am doing wrong?

I have run virus scans on my computer, which is only a few months old, and this does not seem to be a hardware issue. If anyone has any advice, solutions or just has the same problm, input would be much appreciateed. I'm getting close to the end of my tether if this keeps happening. Thank you so much for any help you could offer. I would be hugely grateful I cannot access my troubleshooting information for this question due to the aforementioned issue. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Edit: As of 11/27/11, I have also tried rolling back to previous versions of this browser to see if that fixed this issue, all to no avail. I have uninstalled and re-installed this browser several times, still with no end to this issue in sight. I've decided to leave Firefox uninstalled for the time being, out of sheer frustration with this issue. I really do love Firefox, but it's of no use to me if I cannot access the content I'm attempting to view. I hope this issue gets resolved in the future, as being forced to switch browsers has thrown me for a bit of a loop. Thanks again for your time and consideration in this matter.

Use Restore or Maximize in the right-click context menu of the Taskbar icon to set focus to the Firefox application if you do not see it.
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window. If that works then close Firefox (File > Exit/Quit) to save that setting.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Thank you. That helped. I really appreciate it! :) I had to maximize, restore, and then move many, many windows and apps, but everything seems to be functioning properly now.
