In Firefox 8, if I open a new tab, the tab opens in about 400 milliseconds and the display of the new tab perceptibly moves from the start of the tab on the left to the end of the tab on the right. If you close a tab the tab closes in the same time frame and you can see the tab moving from left to right. To me, this is annoying. In Firefox 3.6, the new tab opens and closes instantaneously. I have set my Windows 7 system's Visual Effects to best performance. Is there a way to make new tabs open more quickly without the unwanted visual effect?
