Whenever a new page is opened, the history sidebar is too, showing all the sites I had visited. My Firefox version is up to date 6.0.2 and I'm using Windows 7.

Firefox sometimes recovers automatically from those problems after a few restarts or you may have opened another window.

Thank you very much cor-el. I had this problem for 2 days, now. Strangely enough, the problem has resolved, so, your solution looks promising but I don't want to try it at this stage, in case something goes wrong, but if it occurs again I will head back here! Thank you for taking the time and trouble to reply.
