Firefox 4.0.1 new features did not install.
I installed Firefox ver. 4.0.1 but everything looks the same as before the install. The only noticeable difference is that the Home Button did move from the middle to the right side. When I check About Firefox, it does list the version as 4.0.1. When I click on Check for Updates, it says, “Firefox is up to date” When I click on Download Firefox, it says I am already running 4.0.1
According to the TAKE THE TOUR site, the most obvious missing features are: 1) Firefox Button which should be in the upper left-hand corner 2) Bookmark Button which should be to the right, next to the Home Button.
Also, there is no “one click” button for Private Browsing, the Awesome Bar does not seem to have the extra features as described, and new sites do NOT open as Tabs,
According to Firefox 4.0.1 is compatible with Windows 2000 so it should not be a problem with the operating system. One other tip, I did try to upgrade one of the Add-ons (AniWeather) which has been updated to be more compatible with 4.0.1. It would not install because of missing dll’s. This seems to be one more clue that 4.0.1 did not fully install.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The orange Firefox button is not the default for W2K and WinXP versions. You need to un-check the Menu Bar when you right-click on the Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, ....). The Bookmark Button only appears when the Menu Bar is hidden

Thank you! That solved the problem. My browser now looks more like the one pictured on TAKE THE TOUR. I am surprised Firefox did not include that tip in the tour or in Getting To Know Your Browser. New websites now open in Tabs as described as well. I also found out (by exploring the Help page a bit deeper) that I was installing the Add-on incorrectly. It is one that has you Save it first. Unfortunately, even after following the directions correctly it did not install because the file is “corrupted” But, that appears to be a problem with the add-on; not Firefox. Yep, it is a shame that Mozilla didn't document the lack of the orange Firefox button on WinXP and W2K, but there ain't that many of us still using those older operating systems any longer. I switched from W2K to WinXP last summer when the 4.0 betas were broken on W2K (hand writing on the wall), that was fixed a few weeks later, but support for W2K is iffy going forward into the future, they have all but stopped testing on W2K. If Mozilla changes something that W2K and WinXP SP 1 & 2 don't support they're not going to be supported any longer, but they claim that they aren't going to stop support on purpose.
