You might like to try a different theme which will solve some of your problems. Right click on toolbar space and uncheck Menu Bar if it is showing and decide whether you want your tabs on top. You can move extension icons formerly on the Status Bar, and now possibly on the Add-ons Bar, to the Navigation Bar. Uncheck the Add-ons Bar. Keep the Status Bar if you must via an extension. Click around in the Firefox Button (visible when you hide the Menu Bar) to see what is there. Or keep the Menu Bar showing if you'd prefer. Just about anything is customizable. I strongly advise you not to go back to FF3. There won't be any going back by Firefox and you'll never catch up. You'll quickly get the feel of FF4 when you try a few things.
