Bookmarks Menu Won't Display Properly
My Bookmarks Toolbar contains several folders of bookmarks, and until last evening it displayed as if the folders were a row of "tabs" that I could click on to produce a drop-down menu of the bookmarks contained in that folder. Last evening I started Firefox and mu Bookmarks menu had shrunk to about half its normal height and all the "tabs" were missing. Clicking on it where the "tabs" should be produced no results.
If I click Bookmarks on the menu bar, then select Bookmarks Toolbar, all the folders and their content are still there as the should be, but I can't get the toolbar to display in the normal way.
I hid the toolbar, closed Firefox, reopened it and tried to view the tookbar again, and nothing changed.
I emptied the toolbar of all its folders and bookmarks, tried hiding and re-viewing it, and nothing changed.
I un-installed Firefox and re-installed it, and nothing changed. When I uninstalled I opted to retain my personalization. Might it have helped if I didn't do that? I hesitate to try it because I'd hate to have to reconstruct my bookmarks and bookmarks toolbar if that can be avoided.
I'm out of ideas, and I use that toolbar constantly - or at least I did. Having it unavailable makes browsing tedious and troublesome, so much so that I'm back to using Internet Exploder until I can find a fix.

Check that you still have the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar
- Make sure that you have the "Bookmarks Toolbar" visible: "View > Toolbars"
- Check in "View > Toolbars > Customize" that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize window onto the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" then click the "Restore Default Set" button
Thank you!
I don't know how it got messed up, but it's fixed now.
