OK...Now i'm really lost. I UNinstalled than reinstalled firefox. Still starting in safemode.

I posted this problem over a week ago! Is Firefox not even going to help me atleast try to fix it? At the very least acknowledge the problem!

I am having the same issue! None of those other fixes worked for me either. Did you ever have any success getting it out of safemode?

Did you make sure that the icon you use to launch Firefox doesn't have -safe-mode at the end of the Target: line?

Also, are using the shortcut in "Recently Used Applications"? If so, that's probably why you are having that problem.

I tried that, making sure it wasn't using a shortcut. And I'm assuming that the original poster, chris11x, did as well because they said they tried everything in that link they posted - the same one that you posted! All of those things are not working!

What makes you think that Firefox is running in SafeMode?

Most notably, none of the add-ons are working. Or even listed under add-ons. I've even downloaded some of them again, not even listed nor working.

I just started having this today. I have gone through EVERY step, and even checked the pathway to make sure it is not executing firefox safe mode through the shortcut. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?!

My Windows 7 laptop started exhibiting this problem today, for the first time. Uninstalling FireFox and reinstalling has no effect, nor do any of the above suggestions.

Any other clues?

Same here. Actually I was following advice on another issue I'm having with 4.0.1 which recommended using safe mode to troubleshoot and now I can't get out of it. I, like the others here, have followed every step recommended on every other page that mentions "stuck in safe mode" and nothing has worked. I have deleted all shortcuts and started from the source file, restarted my computer, etc. Looks like a lot of other people are having the same problem.

where is recently used applications?

This is going to sound slightly strange but this worked for me, hold the control button while clicking on the icon and see because if shift is held while firefox is opening then it loads in safe mode but holding the control button negates the shift effect (try this even if you are not physically holding the shift button)

I had the same problem and I think I solved it. The only thing that is different in save mode is that extensions and moduls aren't allowed. So why not to allow them? Go to tools then to add-ons and there you should find a list of extensions and moduls. Allow them all. I did it and now everything works normal. Try that...(and sorry for my English)

THIS FIXES IT:

Go to tools > general > manage add-ons.

go thru the extensions, appearence, plugins and enable them again
