Using unsupported versions of Firefox is not recommended. If you don't want to use the latest 3.6, use the latest 3.5 instead, for maximum security and safety:

Morbus, that link only goes to 3.5.....I want 3.6.2

it doesn't show all the previous versions like it used to.

If you ===must=== install a previous version, see Install an older version of Firefox and ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.2/win32/en-US/. I would suggest starting a new thread so a volunteer can help you

Mozilla remove all the older versions from their repository forcing you to use what they "consider" as a stable version ... hahaha

Get all the older versions from here and keep reinstalling until you find a good working version, turn off auto updates too when you do get your mozilla stable again - URL Removed by a moderator

I suggest downgrading to 3.5.x and avoid 3.6 which is riddled with bugs, holes and memory leaks.

Downloading Firefox from any site other than the official Mozilla download sites is not recommended because:

  • You do not know what changes may have been made to Firefox by those other sites.
  • You do not know what toolbars, etc., may have been added or will be installed from those sites.

Look at the security fixes that have been made in recent versions: https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox36.html

If you want to go back to that version because of plugin issues with Out-Of-Process-Plugins (plugin-container) then see:

Mozilla has ALL versions of Firefox available, on all locales, including ALL the test versions, for all systems, including the nightlies. They can be downloaded from Mozilla's FTP servers.

If you're having a problem with Firefox, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in safe mode (don't forget to select Disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See this article for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and this one for plugins.

If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.

If the problem does not disappear when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.
