my history is being deleated when I close firefox but I have set my preferences to save my history. Why is this happening?
Even though I have customized my setting for the history to last 10 days it is being deleated automatically when Firefox is closed. I am not using a private session. My cookies and cache are being saved.
will have to go tools options then security then make sure firefox will remember history.

Menu differences: Windows: Tools > Options - Mac: Firefox > Preferences - Linux: Edit > Preferences ---
* Make sure that the History is set to at least 1 day: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember visited pages for at least" * Make sure that you do not start Firefox in Private Browsing mode (Tools > Stop Private Browsing is grayed, see Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history) * To see History and Cookie settings in Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history"
The setting Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember visited pages for at least" refers to the number of days kept in memory (default is 90 days). Firefox 3 and 3.5/6 versions store pages in places.sqlite on disk for 180 days by default. ..... You can look at these prefs on the about:config page. http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data) http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days_min (90)
Hi Thanks for the replies. I have already done all of these and it still does not keep the history. It used to be fine it has just changed in the last few weeks. I also have a mac so the directions are a little different from what you have suggested but I have done the same thing.
