Add on permission - Access local files on your computer

Hi I've been using add on '''Tab Mix - Rename Tab''' in the past and lately it's no working. Found reason to be permission for "Access local files on your computer", see attached I can't remember what it was in previous version of Firefox, but want to know if it's safe to turn on permission, guessing there's a reason why it's now off, thanks
