How can I make Firefox iOS automatically redirect to apps?
If I click on a YouTube link in another app, say Bluesky or my RSS reader or something, and Safari is my default browser, as soon as it realizes I have a YouTube link it jumps to the YouTube app.
Firefox instead opens the YouTube link in a Firefox tab, and has an “Open in App?” banner along the top.
How can I skip that middle step? This is pretty annoying.

Before it gets stated as a suggestion, I have the “Block opening in external apps” setting turned off
Do these new tabs open in normal browsing, or you mostly have private tabs in the foreground so the app links end up opening also in private tabs then?

Standard tabs, like I hit the new tab button and typed in the URL.
Let’s stick with just Bsky for consistency, though to be clear it happens in apps without URL redirect trackers too.
With Safari: Tap on link in Bsky -> bounces to Safari -> URL resolves to a YouTube link -> Safari kicks it to YouTube App
With Firefox: Tap on link in Bsky -> bounces to new tab in Firefox -> URL resolves to YouTube -> Stays in Firefox
Yeah I don't understand why iOS even triggers the browsers when it's actually handling the "universal links" on its own, before delegating that anywhere… maybe they have some private APIs with Safari that can work with the system "secret" adaptive logic in the background, who knows.
Basically you need to "teach" the system to follow the app intent links directly — check if the Bsky link out can be long–pressed, and see if you get "Open in Youtube…" menu item there, if you use these direct intents for a bit, the system should learn to prefer them… 🤷
