firefox browser crashes on startup even after uninstall and clean reinstall
Hello, my firefox browser suddenly started to crash on startup,even when trying to start it in safemode but holding down shift key , i also tried to uninstall and delete all firefox related data from my pc and then reinstall,still crashes which is weird because it worked fine before the crash reported contents contain the following

I had the exact same issue. Here’s what I tried that didn’t work:
- Reinstalled the latest stable version of Firefox
- Updated to the latest beta version of Firefox
- Ran Firefox in safe mode (It also crashed and wouldn’t open)
- Updated Windows and restarted
- Updated graphic drivers and restarted
- Ran the following commands:
- sfc /scannow - DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth - DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth - DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Eventually, I discovered it was something related to Hardware Acceleration. As a temporary workaround, I did the following:
1. Close all Firefox processes (firefox.exe) from Task Manager. 2. Right-click the Firefox shortcut → Compatibility tab → check “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and select Windows 8 → Apply. 3. Launch Firefox. 4. Go to about:config and change these settings:
- gfx.webrender.all → set to false
- layers.acceleration.disabled → set to true
- media.hardware-video-decoding.enabled → set to false
5. Close Firefox. Now in the shortcut Compatibility tab again, uncheck “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”. 6. Re-launch Firefox.
