1. you need first install Thunderbird https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-thunderbird-on-mac

2. you configure it to use your email address https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/automatic-account-configuration

Now you can test send and receive emails with Thunderbird.
