Akamai Edgesuite.net - Access Denied Error Messages?

Agent virtuel replied

Hello,

These error messages can result from a compromised IP address which you can check here:

https://www.akamai.com/us/en/clientrep-lookup/ or here: https://dnschecker.org/ip-blacklist-checker.php?

However, this post is for the condition where these messages are received yet your IP address is clean.

I have two browsers installed Firefox and Chrome. Firefox has problems with an ever increasing number of websites (that are switching to Akamai Edgesuite) while Chrome marches on without issues.

I recently discovered the Browser User Agent identification string that is used by the server to determine what browser it is talking to. This is useful for serving content correctly to different types of devices like a phone or PC. You can find your Browser User Agent string here:

https://dnschecker.org/whats-my-ip-address.php

So thinking that this might be Firefox's problem I copied the string from my working Chrome installation and added it to Firefox. Unfortunately the issue continues.

So somehow Edgesuite is using something MORE than just the user agent string to kick Firefox to the curb. Does anyone have any clues as to what this might be and how to get Firefox in the good graces of Edgesuite?

Thanks, Steve

Steve, your archaic "Chrome 109" user agent that you use as an override actually hid any useful details about your setup in this question;) so could you follow up, and share your Windows and Firefox versions that you currently use?

(Seems Chrome is also pretty aggressive with faking a different OS version, which is surprising given they then share the exact one using navigator data:/ …)

This is Win 7 SP1. Firefox is 115.34.0esr. Firefox is basically unusable due to this issue.

Thanks, Steve
