Thanks for your interest TYDraniu. I understand this problem is being looked at by Firefox. It has been caused by a recent update. I refreshed firefox, did a load of uninstalling of apps to no avail, but then refreshed firefox again. Many of the defects have now gone, but not the greyed out address bar. I shall wait patiently for the team to issue a remedy. Thanks again. hharry
