search focus goes away when searching from new tab
So whenever I open a new tab, and start to type in my search terms, the focus goes away, forcing me to restart the browser so I can search for something.

To be honest, it shouldn't... The team is working on implementing a modern embedded search UI for the New Tab, and the old code has been removed to clean up space for the new one. So what's expected is that you won't be able to change that behavior for now.

Actually at this point it is slightly moot in that the recent update broke my browser and I had to install 146 to get back up and running. Most of my settings were able to be recovered but I have lost data due to the broken update. My biggest issue with the updates is that when I'm searching, I'm NOT interested in searching my history, I'm searching for something completely different. If I want to search my history, well, that's what the sidebar is for.
