Hello !

How can I retrieve password and usernames that are saved in the login forms of visited websites ?

I know how to see "password and login" in Mozilla settings (Private life & Security / Saved Passwords).

But on some websites, the connection to my account is automatic : password and usernames are saved in the login forms (like cookies may be ?), and they are not present in Mozilla setting and Saved Passwords.

I didn't find anything in the web on my request.

Is it possible te recover this recorded data ?

Thank you by advance.

Hi,

What extensions do you have? Maybe it's a feature of one of them?

Hi Denys,

Excuse-me, I was late to answer...

In my situation, I use a secured browser ("ESET secured browser & banking transaction") with Mozilla Firefox, no extensions are in function during this session.

Unfortunatly, I used CCleaner since my last post, and I lost the login connection... So I must do the classic action : "I forgot my password" :(

But, I would have liked to know for the future, regarding my initial request.

Is there any way to recover these data ?

Please Note : I'm a french user, I hope my english is understandable

Well, I don't have much experience with the Password Manager, but that definitely sounds like a bug. I mean the fact that saved passwords are not displayed. If you face this issue next time, I recommend to run Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode, and if the non-displayed passwords are still autofilled, file a bug on Bugzilla for the developers to take a look.

Regarding recovering the data, I'm not that sure. You can set up Sync, but it's likely that once the data are removed, these "clean" version will sync up to the cloud as well. There's also Firefox Backup, but it's not available on Windows 11 yet, and it may not give you enough time to restore before overriding the old backup file. Probably the most reliable way is copying the corresponding files (logins.json and key4.db) manually. See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.
