Another reason you can't group tabs
Not sure if this is the right place. There is a troubleshooting section in this article. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups
While it may be obvious, for some reason it didn't connect. I was trying to group pinned tabs. It doesn't work. I have to unpin them, if I want to group them. If someone could add to it? I'm likely not the only one.

(Never mind my previous answer.) This feature is not implemented yet. You can vote for the related idea on Mozilla Connect.
