Hi rckac,

If NordPass stopped working in Firefox but still works in Chrome, here are a few things you can check — this issue sometimes happens after a Firefox or NordPass update.

1. Check the NordPass extension

  • Go to Menu → Add-ons and themes → Extensions.
  • Make sure NordPass Password Manager & Digital Vault is enabled.
  • If it is already enabled, click ⋯ → Remove, then reinstall it from the official add-on page:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nordpass-password-manager/

2. Restart both applications

  • Close Firefox completely (ensure no firefox.exe process is running in Task Manager).
  • Close the NordPass desktop app, then start it again.
  • Reopen Firefox and check if NordPass reconnects.

3. Verify NordPass integration settings

In the NordPass desktop app, go to Settings → Browser Integration and make sure Firefox is enabled. If it is disabled, turn it on and restart both NordPass and Firefox.

4. Check for updates

Make sure both Firefox and NordPass (desktop app and extension) are updated to their latest versions. Compatibility issues can occur when one of them is outdated.

5. Try Troubleshoot Mode

Open Menu → Help → Troubleshoot Mode… → Restart. If NordPass works there, another extension may be conflicting with it.

If none of these steps help, reinstall the NordPass desktop app completely. This resets the connection between Firefox and the NordPass extension. After reinstalling, open the NordPass app, log in, and re-enable Firefox under Browser Integration.

This usually restores full NordPass functionality after an update or connection issue.

Before I posted to this forum, I spent an hour with NordPass support. Still not working, contacted NordPass support a second time and they admitted they were working on the problem. "invalidstateerror a mutation operation was attempted on a database that did not allow mutations"
