installinf update to firefox
after I tell download to run, I get no indication of whether it is updating or not, also no completion statement

If you want to be sure you are running the most up to date version of Firefox, best thing to do is ensure you have done a sync of your data and do a reinstall of firefox from the website. This will help ensure that you are getting the most up to date version.
