How do i get FF to open a bookmark in a new tab, without having to create a new tab first? Its an annoying extra step

When I click on a bookmark, FF opens it in the current tab, overwriting the site I had open. I have to add a tab, then click on the bookmark to have it in a new tab. This is an annoying extra step. How to I change it? I already tried the open links in new tabs instead of windows. Makes no difference On or Off

Hi Raye

This will open all bookmarks in a new tab: Type "about:config" into the address bar, press Enter and accept any warning, then copy and paste the following into the search box "browser.tabs.LoadBookmarksInTabs" Now on the search result, click the Toggle button at the right-hand end to change from False to True.

This worked! Thanks so much. As an FYI, I wasn't sure whether to include the quotations marks in the entry, so i tried both. Although both bring up the option, only using the one without the quotation marks actually worked to solve the problem. Just an annoying little thing but when you are online all day every click counts!
